I got mine in 3 days. This was before Remembrance day holiday.

Maybe that holiday delayed the shipment

Armind 11-15-2016 12:18 PM

Public Mobile IS Telus.

Domain name is owned by Telus. :accepted:

I didn't get a tracking number, only an email confirming the order and that it is on the way.

guurl 11-15-2016 02:44 PM

Turns out to be $50 a month w. tax included if you get the public mobile canada wide with 4gb data.

[Virgin Mobile] 4GB Data and Unlimited Talk/Text (AB/BC Only) - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Virgin is matching this

Razor Ramon HG 11-15-2016 03:56 PM

Anyone got a spare Public Mobile SIM?

Ordered two, but just in case they don't show up.

Virgin is nice, but Public Mobile offers better VM and discounts for referral and PAP.

I'll go with Virgin if my PM SIMs don't arrive by Friday.

For SIM card delivery delays or if your SIM card never arrived:
This issue is predominantly driven by address errors or missing information – I’ve personally seen returns from apartment buildings with no unit number. Please be diligent when filling in your address.
Additionally many of you who ordered recently are asking where your SIM is. Please be mindful that Friday, November 11 was a holiday for Canada Post so there will be some delays as a result. If you ordered Wednesday through Friday of last week, please check your mail tomorrow.
If you order a SIM at this point (Tuesday evening), it will likely not arrive before the promo ends on Sunday. To help with this, we are organizing SIM card pick up locations in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal for Friday and Saturday for anyone who wants a last minute SIM card. Details to come, but the location will be downtown in each city and the $5 for each SIM will be going to Prostate Cancer in the spirit of Movember.
I'm really liking this Canadian "uncarrier". They could've easily gone "sorry guys your fault for ordering too late". Instead, they're going out of their way AND donating the proceeds to a worthy cause. Even though the Virgin deal is tempting just to have US roaming coverage without having to add-on, stuff like this really makes me want to support PM.

Armind 11-15-2016 08:17 PM

Is there stupid system access fee?

Gonna give up my Fido retentions plan for this if they don't offer me something when I close my account.

Definitely an interesting move from them, but lets not get all mushy for the small guy. This company is just a subsidiary of Telus.

Armind 11-15-2016 08:44 PM

I heard that not all of Telus towers are being used for PM?

dn53 11-15-2016 08:59 PM

ordered a PM sim just now but if it doesn't show up in time I will probably jump to Virgin also

Gallardo 11-15-2016 09:35 PM

Speedtest with Public Mobile on my iPhone 5s is 34-down and 49-up.

Activation took 30min all in, data and voice worked right away. Had to wait 15 min for text to work properly.

I have another SIM that's unused. PM me if anyone is interested.

Armind 11-15-2016 09:42 PM

Need a phone to use with PM :fuuuuu:

AzNightmare 11-15-2016 11:43 PM

I ordered it last Thursday. Just got it today. Whew!

Most likely switching to this tomorrow. Just waiting for a friend to confirm some details when he gets into work tomorrow.

I'm on Rogers right now and they're charging me $65 pre-tax for the 6GB loyalty plan (bumped up in price - before it was like $62 tax in) which is around 70ish per month after tax

- Unlimited evening/weekend
- Unlimited local calling (so essentially province wide talk like these 2 plans)
- Unlimited text/mms
- Enhanced voicemail
- Call display (lol - should be a standard anyways)
- 6GB data
- Unlimited Canada/US long distance

I'd save $300+ switching to Virgin from my current Rogers plan but I'd lose the Canada/US long distance and an extra 2GB of data. It sucks to lose the 2GB of data but it's also hard to justify paying $30 for essentially 2GB

I have a similar plan from rogers as well, but i'm almost maxing out my 6gb data every month. Hard to go from 6gb to 4gb.

I'm on the same boat.. Just gotta make a slight change in lifestyle then. I can live without 2GB of data saving $30/ month

Hopefully fido matches since i'm already on fido and probably be easier to just have them put me on the new plan than switching.

Razor Ramon HG 11-16-2016 01:54 PM

Easier to port. Fido and Virgin will probably jack up prices after, as much as I'm tenpted to switch to Virgin for the BOGO movie tickets.

dyan 11-16-2016 02:08 PM

Just when i tried to sign up for plan.. the $120 option for 12GB of data is gone.

lilaznviper 11-16-2016 02:41 PM

the plan is not advertised but if you active a new sim it will show up

Quote:

Hey everyone,

We have removed the promo plan from the website; however the plan is still available in the activation portal and in Self-Serve.

Since we have temporarily stopped SIM ordering, we wanted to take this down from our website, as those who have not yet ordered a SIM or will not be picking it up at one of our 3 urban locations this Friday or Saturday, will not be able to receive a SIM card in enough time take advantage of the plan.

Full details on pick-up locations that will be held this Friday and Saturday in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal will be posted tomorrow at 9AM. Thanks for your patience!

Ch28 11-16-2016 02:43 PM

Promo end date is still the same. They just removed the plan cause they didn't want people to order sim cards online that wouldn't make it to customers in time thus rendering the deal useless

Public Mobile here! Thanks for coming to order a SIM card. Unfortunately, you’ll need to come back next week since we’ve temporarily stopped shipping SIM cards. Why? We thought you’d want to know. It’s simple: any SIM cards that are ordered now will not make it into your hands before the end of our promotion (Sunday, November 20 at 11:59pm) and we don’t want you to get your hopes up and then be disappointed. But do come back and check us out next week – we’d love to have you join us. The Public Mobile team
