Apparently the deal is only good for a year and then they're allowed to change prices with a 30 day notice.
Also pm doesn't seem to charge tax? Everyone jus getting charged 120 flat on their cc

PM not charging tax was a glitch. I was charged tax on my parent's account.

Though I'm interested to know whether the 1 year thing is true or not.

Switched to Fido from Bell. Bell greedy a-holes wouldn't budge at all to offer me anything, even when I gave retention a opportunity to keep me. They told me Bell got the most cell towers and that's why they charge what they charge etc. Can't imagine how many customers they lost....

maybe we all jumped the gun too early on PM.. Wind Mobile relaunches as Freedom Mobile with LTE. 6 gigs for $40.. only for 1 year though then drops back down to 3 gigs but you can go over data, it just bottlenecks the speed

the 1000 min of LD (for fido at least) is only international and to 8 select countries.

Doesn't their coverage suck though? Plus you have the huge selection of like 3 phones that work with LTE with them.

I also heard they are screwing over their loyal customers by not including LTE with any of their old plans.

Their website FAQ says that you need their LTE plan to get LTE, but when I called in, they said nothing is set in stone, but service reps never know anything so I'm gonna take the word from their website, which is kinda BS cause I stayed with Wind waiting for LTE and now they just fucked their loyal customers cause they won't even get LTE coverage lol.

Rewards with PM are better in the long haul. I was a Fido customer, been with them for over 10 years and they recently got rid of Fido dollars. And as a customer for 10 years they didn't offer any real retention plans until their promo, so I had no real reason to stay. I was paying $60/month for unlimited calling and 2 gbs of data (went over every so often).

With PM I will be paying $36/month next cycle after two referrals and auto-pay credit. Each year you stay with them, you get $1 off each month, up to $5. So in 5 years time, you're paying $31/month for that same plan. Yeah its far from now, but I've been using Fido now for well over 10 years already.

Service has been great so far, no complaints.

Pretty much this, plus any referral discounts you might accrue.

I have family and friends outside of the country, but I don't call them so no need for the LD. If I really need to call them, then I make a quick call using Hangouts Dialer (free Canada/USA calls), or Whatsapp (internationally).

Virgin's last price matched plan ended up being jacked up a few months after people went on it.

Switching to Fido from Rogers is pointless because they're still getting your money

PM offered a great plan and they're on the Telus/Bell network so reception is of no issue. Loyalty rewards is awesome because Im paying $35/month with 3 referrals and autopay.

The only reason Fido and Virgin put these plans out is to save their asses. If PM didn't make the first move then nothing would've happened, so I have no issues giving them my business since loyalty for Rogers means absolutely fuck all.

Best analogy I tell people are the Big 3 are sending their kids out to the playground to fight. lol
