| Sharp 52" Lcd TV repair?
I have a 52" Sharp Lcd that doesn't power on. I'm guessing it could be maybe a fuse or power supply. any idea if it is worth the fix? Or a good repair shop? It apparently had some flickering issue randomly so I'm guessing it might be the power supply. it was working fine but all of a sudden it stopped turning on one day.
Seems like a waste to just throw away.
Anyways thanks!

It's probably a capacitor, it's an easy diy if you're handy with a soldering iron. Had it happen to a sharp I was using as well.

Imo, there's no almost no point in upgrading TV unless you can take advantage of 4k (which most people don't) or want a bigger TV but that's another discussion.
A quick Google search says this company ( TV Repair, All Brands, Free In Home Estimate Serving All of Vancouver Lower Mainland) is a pretty good repair shop. I don't have experience with them, but there's no harm in getting a repair quote from them. But you're right that it does seem to be a waste to throw out the TV when the problem could potentially be a small one.

I'm in Vancouver I'll try to call around and report back what I find out. I did read somewhere where sharp cheaped out and used defect prone chips from Turkey but I'm not 100% affected my unit.
