| Places to go/visit on the Sunshine Coast? Hey RevScene!!!
Does anyone live on the Sunshine Coast or have any ideas on places to visit? I'll be there Nov 10-13.
I'm heading there next weekend for the long weekend and from what I gather, there isn't much to do entertainment wise, but there should be a lot of hikes/nature areas to visit.
I'm all about hiking and checking out cool areas. This is what I have so far: (Any extra tips or places to visit would be great)
1) Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park - Does anyone know when the best time to go? Some said go when the tide is low? How do I figure that out.
2) Pender Harbour - What is there to do here?
3) Golf - There are two courses, Sechelt and Blue Ocean, which is better?
4)Gum Boot Cafe in Roberts creek.
If you could share your experiences, that would be really great!
I appreciate all the feedback =D

The Trout and salmon hatchery there. Not sure if it is open this season in Fall.
The volunteer(s) there give you a personal tour of the facility.
It is not bad at all.
Also, try the poutine (pork one) at Gibson's pier. It's the one right next to the info buildling on the harbour (the wooden pier with some parking).

Believe Blue Ocean is the new name for the old Sechelt Golf course.. they have golf boards there which are awesome. Not sure they'd be renting them in November though.

Seconded for Persephone. Such a good brewery. Nice to spend an afternoon there if the weather is decent.

Some of my favorite hikes.. Mount Daniel Hike SCRD Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park - BC Parks
Laverns Grill is also one of my go to places to eat. Menu ? LaVerne's Grill
I hope you made Ferry reservations for the long weekend. The sailing waits are guaranteed to be 1-2 waits. Also pack food to eat in the car while waiting for the ferry.

I appreciate all the feed back =D | We love going to Ruby lake, if you're looking for a cool hike in Gibson's that's relatively short and has a wicked view, check out Knob Hill aka Soames Trail: Soames Hill Trails
The Angry Chef restaurant in Gibsons is fantastic, as well as Lucky's BBQ in Sechelt.

Harbour Pizza in Maderia Park is good if you're looking for cheap eats. If you're there during the day, try the sausage rolls. They are made fresh daily, in small batches.
The Sunshine coast is a little slower and way more chill. Some days you'll find yourself doing absolutely nothing, just waiting for sunset and sometimes those are the best days. |

And we have made reservations, luckily. So we are good to go. Quote:

We aren't big into fishing or anything, a hatchery tour sounds a little boring. Is there something in particular you could sell me on? Quote:

I wanted to check out Molly's reach, but the reviews about service is really turning me off from going there. I may have to skip it since there are other options available.
Persephone, is that just beer? We aren't drinkers, do they have food there? Quote:

Lucky's BBQ. WOW. That place looks amazing. Thanks for the tip. We will check it out for sure!!!

| I haven't done Soames or Knob Hill yet, my GF's family has a place in Halfmoon Bay and we hike a new location every hike, but there's so many that we're just doing the closer ones for now but we will get to these other locations also.
Mt. Daniel is a amazing hike with a fantastic view. Both Mt Daniel and Pender Hill have amazing views. Pender hill is a bit easier to hike.
TBH each hike we have done, really gives us a breath of fresh air, the seclusion and views are so amazing you just sit in awe looking and wondering why you dont live out there.

I love Knob Hill hike, it's relatively short, but the payoff is great, the views from the top are amazing. You can sit and smoke a joint and watch the Ferry's going around in the distance.
