Ferrari J50

Looks pretty cool.
Apparently it's based on 488.

Surprise! It's the Ferrari J50 | Top Gear

The article says the "J" stands for JAPAN :fuckyea: JDM

ilovebacon 12-13-2016 09:44 AM

pastarocket 12-13-2016 09:54 AM

Good post Timpo!

I'm not a fan of the front end or the recycled F50 wheels.
Good thing I'm not the target market!

:D

Maybe you are their target market.

As many of you know, Ferrari can't survive simply by selling cars. Frankly, mark up on those cars aren't that high.
And the numbers of vehicles they sell can't make up for the cost.

However, brands Ferrari has massive amount of loyalty income.

Video games, RC cars, plastic models, posters, die-cast models, hot wheels, T-shirts, hats, watches, anything.

Have you ever bought ANY Ferrari licensed product? If you have, then you're a legitimate Ferrari customer.

Ferrari's job is to create exciting cars, typically for both adults and kids, and hopefully people will buy their licensed products.

originalhypa 12-13-2016 11:27 AM

Damn, you're good Timpo.
While I don't own any Ferrari merchandise, I see it all the time worn by folks who do not own a Ferrari. The branding goes far beyond the cars themselves.

rb 12-13-2016 11:51 AM

reminds of the K-1 Attack kit car from 2002-ish that was based on a 90-93 Accord

bcuzracecarz 12-13-2016 11:55 AM

Looks amazing, dare I say might be one of the prettiest Ferrari's of the last 25 years. Have to see in person for better idea. Too bad we will have a next to nothing chance of seeing one in person seeing as they are built for Japan's 50th anniversary and only making 10 examples. :yuno:

pastarocket 12-13-2016 11:59 AM

Hey Timpo. I've got a question for you.

If money was no object, would you buy the J50 or the next generation R36 GT-R?

I'm sure you can get a dealership in Japan to ship the J50 over to BC. :troll:

Ya, except most of them look like a douchebag.

Harvey Specter 12-13-2016 07:50 PM

I think it's even more douchey when you own say a Ferrari and you hop out decked out in Ferrari gear.

or we could not be so quick to label others by their outfit
really no different than Canucks fans that wear the jersey without being hockey players themselves

hud 91gt 12-13-2016 09:07 PM

Pretty sure I have a Ford shirt somewhere. Am I a douche? Or just a redneck.

Mr.Money 12-14-2016 01:55 AM

punkwax 12-14-2016 07:10 AM

People who wear Ferrari are typically fans of the brand's racing history.

You mean, like the wealthy son of a Cinemax founder who has yet to work a day in his life?
