| Another Lamborghini and Ferrari crash by young Chinese drivers Costly crash: Lamborghini and Ferrari collide in Massey Tunnel | CTV Vancouver News
What bothers me about this article/video is that RCMP admits that those drivers weren't driving fast or anything. Accidents happen.
But the cop says that just because those cars have high performance, they should be restricted Because those cars are too tempting to use the power, which they did NOT do.
Maybe it's just me, but if this accident was caused by 2 white drivers with Civic and Corolla with N, it wouldn't even be on the news.
Now 2 Chinese N drivers with Ferrari and Lamborghini, they get exposed on the media even though they weren't driving like idiots, just pure accident.

Not to be a huge douche or incite an internet riot but:
Its a crash...someone did something that caused the crash and yeah they happen but and it sucks big time. The one guy was charged with being to close so he was still doing something wrong....from my experience going through the tunnel, people with loud cars hammer the gas to get the sound amplified...maybe thats what occurred and one car lost control....
But maybe not and the crash was simply due to the guy being tired and slow reactions.
I see this being "newsworthy" because asian/white/black people crash in civics all day, but at least from a tax payer, its reasonable to fix (5-20k) but now we as tax payers are on the hook for 10x that amount? And with increasing frequency?
Now that I have experience of insurance in other parts of the country, I am blown away that I pay over $2k/year for a 2011 Maxima. (although i am sure it goes to things beyond insurance)
Anyways, again, didn't want to incite riots and flames but Im curious if other people have similar views or can rationally poke holes in my point of view.

I saw these guys Right before the tunnel, there were two huricans and that 458. Two huracans cruising right lane below speed limit "I passed them at 80km." Before passing the huracans the 458 seemed like they were trying to egg on the huracans to do some pulls? Kept reving the engine beside the lambos and then punched it and slowed down speed. Finally the 458 switched to the right lane infront of the lambos as I pass them all.

Hey Timpo, would you still make a thread about this accident if the vehicles involved were only a GT-R and an A4?
-high RS standards for the make/model of the cars involved in accidents?

I though ICBC change their policy a few months ago. I heard somewhere that they are no longer insurancing these type of high value cars and in the news they specifically said drivers of such luxury cars must get a private company to insure them.

As an insurance company, why would you even bother insuring a 20 somthing year old driver with a new BC licence on a car worth 100k+?
seems like a losing prospect for an industry that banks heavilly on odds lol

probably low but even then.. just have it so if the principle operator has to be the insurer, if the principle operator is not driving when an accident is caused, you're insurance is void

Like province who uses a private insurance company. Some of them won't even let you insure a car more than 30k as a new driver. I like that idea.
