I know some people will hate it but Kia Stinger looks pretty cool, 365hp and rwd

twitchyzero 01-08-2017 09:09 PM

So for 2018 the Tiguan in NA would be longer by 10" cause we're fat

So now they've turned it into a Touareg, and will need to add back another small SUV to slot below the Tiguan. Just like how the CRV progressive went from its gen 1 size to its current size, so Honda added the HRV all over again.

damn. that stinger....

great car... but Kia's dealer network has always been known to be Sub par....

Cwift 01-09-2017 12:48 AM

Front end of the stinger reminds me of the genesis coupe lol.

StylinRed 01-09-2017 01:28 AM

I dunno the stinger looks ugly to me

But I'm surprised it's so long

SeedBNR 01-09-2017 01:37 AM

Wasn't the Stinger supposed to be a coupe??

StylinRed 01-09-2017 05:13 AM

This Audi Q8 is going to be shown at Detroit, Audi just released the concept video online

the article i read about it said kia said it only took the name and rwd concept from the concept coupe but dosen't share anything else.

edit: the design of this car came from the GT concept back in 2011 which i completely forgot about until now

2018 Camry a bit too aggressive? no engine enhancements

interior aint bad

i do like the way it looks

Camry will sell like hotcakes. Heard the engines will be enhanced from MY2016. Of course, with Toyota, enhancements means maybe 1-2mpg gain and one extra torque or two.

thumper 01-09-2017 10:55 AM

that c-pillar design... it works/not works for me? i don't know why

http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...1-626x382.jpeg

twitchyzero 01-09-2017 11:24 AM

wow that looks really upscale...I understand it's fully-loaded but looks on-par with Lexus

image fine-print says it's prototype and not a production model...so there goes that

Akinari 01-09-2017 11:31 AM

New Camry looks great. Looking forward to the driving impressions. Strangely, the A-pillars look really thin though? Toyota has had trouble with small overlap over the past few years, I wonder if they've managed to address that with this.

Also, my favourite crossover the Qashqai is finally coming over to North America, and in Canada we get the proper name not the stupid "Rogue Sport" the US is getting :lawl: always been jealous of how the UK got the better looking less Muricanized SUV, not the stupid Rogue.

Stinger looks really confused to me so far based on photos. The worst part is that stupid tail light line extended to the entire rear fender like wat?

optical illusion? not sure if i am explaining this properly but the a-pillar starts of thin at the base, but gets thicker as it reaches the roof?

Liquid_o2 01-09-2017 12:27 PM

The front of the new Camry looks like something out of a Need 4 Speed Underground mash-up. SO MANY RANDOM ANGLES.

thumper 01-09-2017 01:29 PM

what do you guys think? not sure if lincoln's direction is the right idea... this is their "concept navigator":

bcuzracecarz 01-09-2017 02:26 PM

"Lincoln - allowing you to get fatter and lazier with every new model"

!Aznboi128 01-09-2017 04:05 PM

I think that navigator was at the previous auto show, it has friggin steps to get inside.

on the other side
Honda decided to put the civic's front end on the odyssey

http://o.aolcdn.com/dims-global/dims...-odyssey-1.jpg

that gear selected tho....

Akinari 01-09-2017 04:31 PM

Can't speak for the rest of the car (2D boxy front end stapled onto a curvy body, spaceship interior) but man everything from the B pillar and back looks heavenly. The new Odyssey probably has the best application of the new floating roof trend so far, the continuation of the chrome belt line trim works very well too.

Also quad exhausts on the XSE Camry :lawl:

I think one of my favourite things about this auto show is that traditional torque converter autos are starting to make a comeback. Lots of cars getting 8/9/10sp torque converter autos (Honda, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia, etc.) as opposed to DCTs which in the long run just can't match the reliability and longevity of a torque converter. It's becoming possible to make torque converter autos shift nearly as quickly as a DCT, which is great. I much prefer the smoothness of a torque converter auto over a DCT, especially for everyday driving.

This Lexus grill thing has gotten completely out of hand:

!LittleDragon 01-09-2017 11:48 PM

The Stinger looks like it's built on the 2015 Genesis platform. The V6TT is going to be powering the Genesis G80 Sport. Surprised they did't mention the Tau V8 as an option since it's available on the platform already.

I have a V8 2G Genesis and it's pretty quick, I can only imagine how much quicker it can be in a lighter version of the car. My Genesis is damn near 5000 pounds...
