I think it's pretty sad for you to downplay this incident when lives were lost. and how is terrorism fear blown out of proportion? the threat is absolutely real and it does not need quotation marks around it. If this is indeed a terrorist attack, and it looks like it is, then the fear is totally legit and needs to taken seriously. | The threat may be real, but people have been scared into thinking it's causing a much higher number of fatalities than it really is. Two people have been killed by terrorism in Britain today, and that is unfortunate, but it's a minuscule number compared to the total number of people who die in the country every single day.
Since 1928, in the US there have only been 3 terrorist attacks that killed more than 17 people. The Oklahoma bombings, the World Trade Center attacks, and the Orlando nightclub shooting the only events with more. In that time just how many people do you think have died in other ways that people aren't in a huge panic about? Quote:

this is an attack near British Parliament for crying out loud. This is an attack not only on Britain but an attack on Western society and civilization on the whole. And it has been going on for awhile. Europe is in a fucking chaos at the moment with all the different groups of people. BREXIT couldn't come fast enough to stop this carnage. | How is one person being off their rocker an attack on civilization as a whole? And what does BREXIT have to do with anything? According to early accounts the guy had been a UK citizen for years. Quote:

Canada needs to do a much better job in vetting what kind of people we are taking it, or simply halt the refugee program altogether and figure out what that hell is going on. | What does this have to do with refugees in Canada? Because one person killed two people halfway around the world, you want to leave thousands of innocent people in warzones? Quote:

I mean look at planes. Media loves to talk about plane crashes where we start to believe they're very common when in reality, there's typically one crash per 1.2 million flights or much higher. The Economist said 1 in 5 million flights. | I still get pissed off every time I go to fly in the US and I have to take off my shoes and belt and go in that stupid scanner. All because a couple of people are nut cases and everyone else is too busy being scared of things that won't kill them and ignoring things that actually can. |
