Removal of electric fireplace from Condo

So.. I'm in market for new condo.

I'm seeing lots of newer condos with ugly useless eletric fireplace that does nothing but forcing you to mount your TV higher.

Has anyone successfuly got permission from strata for removal?

I'm trying to figure out if removal is ever permitted by strata.

I don't think that's considered common or limited common property. No different than a dish washer/stove in your unit. If it dies, it's up to you to fix it.

It's not a strata item. You should be able to rip it out. I decided to leave mine alone. It's nice to look at. I have my TV on an entertainment unit.

Does strata enter your unit? No? You can install and rip out whatever you want.

Friend of mine removed his and sold it to another unit that never came with one. He's never had issues, but your always better of checking your strata by-laws if your unsure.

Usually those electric fireplace doesn't do shit anyways.. lol..
my PC with 2 video card + few monitors will probably generate more heat.

Anyways, I'd check with my strata before removing anything.
Since I have not bought a place yet and have no strata to ask, I thought I'd ask here and see.
