Whatever, credit where it's due, what other franchise can you think of where they churn out 8+ movies on original story (ie. not harry potter), that isn't James Bond, and is successful every time?

Say what you want, but I enjoy movies where I can shut my brain off and just watch cool things happen. Bonus is that most of it is done practically with limited CGI.

Mr.Money 04-20-2017 05:10 PM

if its making half a billion dollar after weekend opening without hard media sales,Studio's are gonna cash into that.

i really wonder how much the actors are getting paid for they're roles since it keeps selling no matter what, even without paul.

ae101 04-20-2017 05:20 PM

I also heard rumors that Brian might make a come back

white rocket 04-21-2017 07:32 AM

It is supposed to conclude with the 10th and final film. Studios are loving the F&F franchise and with no signs of it slowing down they'd be smart to keep it going for as long as possible. Every film has been a success no matter what people think about them.

lol, just gonna leave this here:
The Rock, Jason Statham to Star in 'Fast & Furious' Spin-Off - Rolling Stone

The Fast & The Furious franchise might be expanding into a Cinematic Fury-verse as Universal is reportedly planning a spin-off film centered on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham's characters.

ae101 04-21-2017 05:04 PM

Can't believe it all started with just couple a guy's stealing DVD players

SkinnyPupp 04-21-2017 06:58 PM

Probably a fake poster, but they already have the next 2 movies planned. Not sure if that includes a spinoff or not. I think the most recent one was the biggest movie opening in history in China.

Jmac 04-21-2017 07:21 PM

The Fine and the Furious?

rice cooker 04-22-2017 06:23 PM

why let it end?

transformer, FF, marvel movies gonna go on forever cos it makes money.

how many james bond movies have there been

inv4zn 04-22-2017 10:33 PM

^23 Bond movies I think (depending on how you count).

But my point still stands. Bond, Transformers, Marvel, all have source materials for the most part, and they can't stray too far from it.

Furious franchise is all original (cheesy plot aside).

ae101 04-23-2017 03:35 PM

It doesn't matter what u guys say, in the end most of all of u will watch it around the opening month or so

this is the only article i could find at the moment talking about all this:

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/f...er-117167.html

Co-star Vin Diesel previously confirmed the next movie in the series, and we knew it would be launched in April 2019. This time, thanks to a post on social media from Tyrese Gibson, we have a list of several actors who will join him in the cast, along with the release date of the film.

The post was quickly deleted, but the Internet does not let things like these slip, especially when celebrities are involved. Along with Tyrese, Fast9 will include Vin Diesel, Matt Damon, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Ludacris, and Michelle Rodriguez.

As you can observe, the names on the list do not mark a dramatic surprise for the fans of the series, and even Matt Damon’s presence is no longer a shock to anyone. The “motto” of the movie is “Can’t Outrun a Ghost,” which is linked to the eight episode of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

Interestingly, the poster still does not have Denzel Washington or Will Smith on the list of actors, which was something that Gibson dreamed of when Furious seven was released, back in 2015.

Who knows, maybe movie number ten will feature one or even both actors whom Tyrese wanted to see in the Fast and the Furious.

All of the above names can easily star in just about any action movie that Hollywood has to offer, so you should not be surprised if you see a cameo by Smith or Washington in the pictures. The franchise is big enough to afford their presence when paychecks are involved, but the tricky part would be finding a role that will make sense in the film.

Thankfully, the directors of this series have plenty of room to play with characters and other elements, so the possibilities are limited by the imagination of the writers of the script. There’s a good chance that most of us will watch this movie, and we are sure it will be a box office hit, just like its predecessor.
