Does anyone know a cheap framing company for Diploma's?

My cousin is wanting to get his degree framed, but didn't want to pay for the school frame which is $140. It looks nice, it has a nice border and even an emblem, but he doesn't think it's worth it.

Does anyone have any suggestions to get it framed? He just wants a black frame, nothing fancy, he's even debating if he wants a border, depending on the price.

Thanks

Damn, I just went to Home Outfitter and bought a frame. Does it have to be that complicated?

Hondaracer 04-20-2017 10:55 AM

All my certs are just in Walmart frames

Can't believe frames are like $99 - 300 on amazon lol

Michael's. They always have coupons in the flyers too

thumper 04-20-2017 11:33 AM

ditto on michael's. that's what i did...

SSM_DC5 04-20-2017 11:36 AM

no need for flyers at Michael's, they can scan your phone.
50% off 1 regular priced item is the norm, so wait for that sale and make sure the frame isn't already on sale before buying

Coupons at Michaels

Home depot, buy a piece of crown moulding. Cut 4 pieces with 45 degree angles and glue together. It'll look better than most off the shelf frames.

Dollar store has frames for those ...

RiceIntegraRS 04-20-2017 12:23 PM

The system is trying to figure out which morons are willing to pay the $140 for a Dollar store frame

Ferra 04-20-2017 12:28 PM

Michael's frame, even at 50% off is still pretty expensive
I remember getting quote at like $150-$200+ for a frame even with 60% off.

I guess expensive frame is worth it if you are going to showcase it on a wall or something.

I stuffs mines in some random drawers and boxes in the basement.
Bought the frames at Walmart for about $20
some of them weren't even framed and just in the envelope they gave me :lol

GLOW 04-20-2017 12:42 PM

i recall just going to SS or walmart and picking up a $10-20 normal frame.

Send him my way, I can do a complete frame install for him.

Third on Michaels.

Honestly though, unless it's a profession where a degree is worth a damn (MD, CGA... etc), why bother? The only time I've used my degree certificate were fresh out of college where work actually does ask for a proof, so I scanned and kept a file in my computer. I don't think I've even seen it for the last 10yrs or so and I don't really know where the actual paper copy is at anymore. And that goes for both undergrad and grad school. :fuckthatshit:

probably spent $30,000 on degree but doesn't want to spend another $140 presenting it.

Don't remember what kind of Microsoft certification it was. But my friend just used a thumb tack and pinned it on his bulletin board. :lawl:

Whenever I see people display things like their bachelors, it shows insecurity.

Insecure, how so? I don't think there's anything wrong with displaying your achievements - especially one that took 4+ years to complete. Whether it's meant to be shown publicly or privately is up to the individual. If someone feels that way then I think that person might be insecure themselves.
