Richmond Baby Shower Crashers

Posted on FB from an acquaintance of mine, this Richmond couple is dropping in on events in community centers/rec rooms and mooching off of food. Since the initial post others have come forward encountering the same people:

Dragon-88 06-27-2017 10:34 AM

MG1, there's people more Frugal that you!

Traum 06-27-2017 10:38 AM

For ridiculous shxt like this, I don't understand why the newspaper blurred out the 2 party crashers' faces. FailFish

Given Vancouver's small social circles, there has to be someone who recognize these 2 cheap idiots.

Just two middle aged ladies with only $2 million in the bank account trying to make a living here. Let them have some free food.

Euro7r 06-27-2017 12:14 PM

Makes me want to clothesline theses two fucking idiots.

How low can one go doing such a stupid thing, steal food from a kids party....

CivicBlues 06-27-2017 12:17 PM

Isn't it great to live in a society where THIS is a major news story?

:alone:

It's okay, these parties usually throw out 2 whole fresh slice pizzas and half the cake because its full of fondant. :lol

I'm surprised the people in the party didn't notice them, they could've picked up a kid and be long gone before they realized a kid is missing.

Mancini 06-27-2017 12:22 PM

I wonder if you could actually get a theft charge to stick?

pastarocket 06-27-2017 12:24 PM

These greedy ass fools are making Chinese Canadians like me look bad!

-miserly, cheap, and greedy. These are some of the words I hear from people about Chinese Canadians in the Lower Mainland.

These scumbags just feed the stereotype!

Forget about the Surrey Creep catchers. We need a Richmond Cheapskate Beatdown Crew to scare these leeches away!

Seriously, how low can people be when they steal food from people who are soon to be parents????

GS8 06-27-2017 12:31 PM

I don't know what's worse.

People who mooch off others or people who defend the people who mooch off others...

Was just reading the comments on the story. I'm ready to fly off my condo tower now.

Something similar happen during my friends baby shower at a Vancouver community centre a few months ago. An elderly couple walked in and claimed to be lost and looked dazed, they both sat down and asked for some water.

A guest at the shower felt bad and gave them water and they sat around for a few minutes and as they were leaving they decided to grab some food, pop cans and candy and put it in their shopping bags. Someone at the party noticed and tried to follow them out but they were gone. Can't trust anyone nowadays.

I'll be the first to admit that way back in ugrad when I was a piss poor student, I would always try to make it to any of the on-campus public seminars to hit up the free pizzas and pop. Tech company recruitment / info sessions were the best because at the time, the IT field was still all the rage, and they were totally willing to splurge on both free food and swag.

But hey, those were totally open-to-public events. Crashing in on private parties is quite a different matter.

too late. this morning they were talking about this topic on news 980 radio and a listener said someone had crashed a local funeral for the food... but no mention of poon.

CivicBlues 06-27-2017 01:38 PM

Damn, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson really let themselves go

One time me and my friends walked in to a resturant and there was no table left as they had a wedding in the other side

Long story short, we didnt know and sat at the wrong table, but they nice enough to let us join them (we were quite embarrassed)

My friend decided to sing them a song on stage to show them our gratitude and i sent them a case of wine with a box of cigars the next day

And now they invited us back for the baby shower as we are now friends

I'll just leave this link here....

Can I join another ethnic group? Like a less embrassing one ? I rather be Inuit than Chinese nowadays.
