Women in general love to be reassured that they look good, so if you start having obese women getting work as a "model" then it validates the idea that they're "beautiful" while still being plus-sized. They'd rather feel good about knowing that there are obese people making it in the world and it's ok then going out and putting in the hard work to lose the weight and becoming a healthy person again.

Obesity is turning into an epidemic not just in America, but globally, and also leads to the #1 killer in the world, which is heart related cardiovascular disease.

When I was over there last year I noticed that if there were anyone who was a bit on the chubby side it was young girls. Most of the men were pretty "lean" which I guess was attributed to mandatory military training.

Canada is among the lowest countries in the world when it comes to heart disease, and 25th in the world in obesity, so I don't know what you are trying to get across here.
