Well.
I think the time has come..

My family puppy has been struggling for a while now especially past couple weeks.

He hasn't ate, drank, slept and non-stop vomiting whenever he did seem uncomfortable.
He showed absolute no interest going out for walk, play with his favorite toys nor responds to anything.
He tends to stay on corner of the room or under the couch even.

I am planning to take him to vet tonight with my family, but the vet told us to be prepared.

He does have tumor on pancreas, however, he's too old to go through any surgery and it will do nothing but harm on him. (15 years old malti-poo)

Tonight would be the longest and roughest night ever and I wanted to be prepared putting him down well with all our warmth and love till the very end.


I was wondering if anyone went through this and wanted to know bit more about cremation process..

Is there any place that can help us to go through with cremation process specialized for our loved ones?

I have had to put down many dogs and it is never easy - they are like family. As for cremation and getting the ashes back - I would caution people that what you get are just a box of ashes, they do not independently cremate each animal, no matter what they tell you, but they will take your money after telling you such. I knew a guy that worked at a crematory that handled pets and he told me everyone just gets a scoop.

If you want something to remember your dog by, my sister had a glass blower put some of their cats ashes into a piece.

I had to put down one of my German Shepherds a few years ago. Was hard to do because it had to be at an emergency 24/7 vet on marine.

Instead of ashes we opted for a clay disk that has her paw print pressed in it with her birth year and year we had to put her down, 2002 - 2014. It's a lot easier to look at on a daily basis and smile than looking at a small urn.

They're also one of the few that actually gives your pet a private cremation if that's what you choose to go with. There were a bunch of other cremation services that sold a private cremation, but it was just a scam.
