| 2003 low km miata on craigslist question

Came across to this NB miata on craigslist, asking price seems pretty reasonable for the amount the km mileage on the car. Just wondering if anyone checked this car out yet in person?

Are you very keen on going with the NB body style? Cuz if you are not married to the idea, IMO, for just a touch more money, you can probably pick up a 3rd gen Miata that offers a lot more car compared to the 2nd gen.
As good as every generation of Miata is, the NB still carries a lot of tech from the NA days, whereas the NC is a thoroughly new design (for its time) when it was released. Both the chassis and engine are vastly more modern than the NB.
I'm not necessarily saying this is a good buy, but it gives you an idea how cheap the 3rd gen cars are: https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/nvn/...275030754.html
Of course, many view the 3rd gen car as the ugly duckling of the Miata family. Some call it fat / porky, others call it ugly. Others say it doesn't look / feel / handle like a Miata. I do not at all agree about that last point.

I think the 3rd gen is arguably the best looking Miata... especially with a nice set of wheels etc.
If I were to get one, it'd be a 3rd gen. But to each their own.

the NB is pretty much just a facelifted NA with more chassis bracing. if you really really liked the NB body style, i'd hold out for a mazdaspeed miata with the turbo, that one will only go up in value. the NC is heavier but in all other regards pretty superior

Nc is the only one that will fit my 6'2 frame. I really really want a na but it's just not physically possible.

I am personally not a fan of the MSM in stock form -- IMO, Mazda built it as too much of a parts bin car to make the project happen, but in doing so, the car is left with some major shortcoming -- the turbo lag is significant, the engine/IC heat soaks too easily, the gearing is far too short, esp given its power levels. But if you are willing to put in a bit of mod money, something like the FlyinMiata Little Enchilada + a taller final drive would totally transform the car into something incredible. I had the fortune of driving one prepared exactly like that, and it was both FUN and FAST.
(And if you go for the FM Big Enchilada kit, that would be an even crazier monster.)
