Licensing: This is a federal Transport Canada thing, required for all pleasure boats above 10HP. It's free, and has nothing to do with provincial taxes. This is where the Bill of Sale puts ownership of the boat into your name.

Registration: Usually only for BIG pleasure craft (IE Yachts) and commercial boats. There's a fee to register. You designate a port of registry and a name for your boat. I wouldn't bother with this for your boat.

Thanks man. The one thing that really confused me on the licensing, is on the TC website it says for pleasure use only. Then states No Passengers will be boarded? I'm assuming this means commercially?
