How is that surprising? Just figure out how much fuel there is when it reads empty (just fill it, and subtract that from the listed tank capacity) then divide than by the L/100km you've been getting, and you'll have the range on E. RIP to the fuel pump though.

I recall my POS Corolla had a very skewed fuel gauge. I had it dipping way below E and when I filled up, I filled up 40L(50L tank).

My RX-8 would have 10L left when the needle is at E.

E light means I can safely do another 50-60k

I've read people doing crazy range like 100k+ which is fine if you're driving straight to the pump...if you have to restart your motor at some point and it's running close to what's left in your lines...good luck

so far ive only seen one person fill-up with a jerry can in the middle of the road

The last person I saw using a Jerry can was a guy in a suit and a brand new black 911T. I assume he was a dealership guy moving the car or getting photos. As they run those cars always on E
