Automatic watch running slow, any advice?

Hi Guys,

I am not a watch guy and would like some of your advice.

I have a Cartier Automatic watch but I've been noticing that it has been running slow by about 3-5 mins even after I've reset it back to the correct time.

How often do you guys service your higher end watches?

Where do you guys suggest I bring it to for service and how much does a service usually cost?

Are the stores like Lugaro in park royal good places to bring it to for servicing?

Thanks in advance guys !

Cartier has a boutique store in Vancouver. If the prices aren't drastically different from other ADs, why not go there.

Service is gonna run you around $500 according to their site.
Prices - Watches - Cartier Customer Services

Time & Gold, downtown vancouver is certified to work on Cartier.
May need servicing depending on how old the watch Is. May need to be regulated. Or may have been magnetized.

Not trying to knock on Otto Friedl inside the basement of the Hotel Vancouver, but I find that their rates are somewhat absurd for what they do.

Yes, they can repair nice watches, but on the flip side, they charge a lot of money for a whole lot of nothing. There are better alternatives out there. They wanted minimum $700 to perform a basic service on a watch that I have, when in turn, the manufacturer's cost was $450. Go there for a second opinion and then make the decision afterwards. I'm sure they do excellent work from all the feedback that is out there.

Otto Friedl or German watchmaker. Servicing every ~5 years or so?

I think it would help if you posted the watch's reference/model number. If it's a simple ETA movement, most places can do it no problem. If it's some weird dingaling movement with properiarty space grade materials and whatnot, then you're kinda hooped, but I highly doubt it.
