Boxing Day 2017 Thread

Any good deals around? I saw some flyers with door crashers yesterday and actually paused for a second thinking "Door crashers? For what?" and realized just how little boxing day seems to mean now with the advent of Black Friday here...

I'm looking for earmuffs. Not sure what the manly version of that word would be, but earmuffs nonetheless. :fullofwin:

Real men wear trappers and toques.

Spoiler!

Googled this up to see what it looks like, never seen this situation before: $499CAD on amazon.ca and it's $579USD on amazon.com... something that's way more expensive in USA than Canada?!?!

looking for blue tooth speakers if anyone knows a good deal

6o4__boi 12-22-2017 10:34 AM

$800 and a home mini as good as it gets for pixel 2?

I remember being in this same position last year and there was nothing good on boxing day.

Signing up on Koodo on a large tab and cancelling is the best you can get actually.

$504 + (prorated plan forgot what this was) + sim for the 64GB

Yea it’s odd and the amazon prices are 200+ cheaper than in most stores locally.

May want to pull the trigger before they figure it out lol

Still remember the days when people would sleep out at A&B sound for Boxing day deals.

Yup it's pretty straight forward, don't forget to change the number to an Alberta number to save a bit on the tax too!

With NCIX dead in the water, any suggestions on computer companies to keep an eye on for internal desktop components for Boxing Day?

Presto 12-22-2017 04:03 PM

Memory Express and Canada Computers seemed to have filled the divot that NCIX left behind.

Hakkaboy 12-22-2017 04:16 PM

maybe a USB-C hub. Damn looks like these are going for $40+ if I want HDMI & charging pass through

Don't forget Newegg

Boxing Week Sale

Tr1ll 12-23-2017 02:18 PM

Hoping the Amazon Fire tablet goes on sale

koukimonst3r 12-23-2017 09:07 PM

Seems like amazon and memory express have similar pricing, MacBook Pro hard drive died on me and seems like an SSD upgrade is gonna happen.

Mr.HappySilp 12-23-2017 11:11 PM

I might need to get a laptop. Desktop is acting weird lately. Most likely just the HDD but I haven't done any upgrades to it for 5 years. Honestly I feel like a laptop is better for me atm.

Just need something that can watch Netflix, youtube. Must be decent looking. I was thinking of HP Envy line but most people say their hardware isn't good.

Any good suggestions from RS? Prefer something around $700 to $1000 max.

SpeedStars 12-24-2017 12:43 AM

^Dell's boxing week deals are up. I ended up getting the 7577 from them during Black Friday and have no complaints so far!

So if anyone is looking for an espresso machine, I just had BestBuy price beat the amazon price of $499 so before tax it came to $473..BB in store price was over $700 lol

After a tonne of research and reading opinions on this machine this is one of the best reviewed things I’ve bought in a long time. On amazon it’s 4.8 stars out of 5 with over 700 reviews and similar results on BestBuy etc

This is pretty much the best price this thing has ever gone for
