What are some of the reliable sources to compare your salary to? |
^another reason why one should always go to 2 interviews a yr to find out what the fair market value is for your role. |
What's the average salary increase these days? Just got mine.. doesn't feel good. |
^^ I'm not sure, in my case I was underpaid compared to what other people in similar roles in the same industry were getting which is why my raise was significant. I interviewed and also spoke to other people I knew in the industry in similar roles at different companies. I never talk about my wages with my coworkers but I don't see anything wrong with talking to people at other companies. |
Thanks for this thread, and congratulations on your well-deserved raise! I am on the search for more money, too. I've been comparing my wage with similar positions on Glassdoor. I work in a non-profit, and pay is typically less than the market, but even factoring that in, there is still a large disparity between my wage and the industry standard. At this point, I'm thinking I need to ask for 30%, and see if I can get 20-25%. |
In my position, I'm getting paid more than the average in the industry (Lululemon and current job postings). That's if the info on Glassdoor is reliable. However, I'm doing more than just the average. What I'm curious to know is, what's considered a good raise/bonus? |
if you're keeping up with inflation? Quote:
luckily there's a survey report from the professional association to gives a stats on the current market rate |
really? Most of the interviews 1) I know for sure how much my role should expect. 2) i had a few employer flat out state (before the interview; HR setup meeting with director) we don't want to go thru all this process and waste our time with salary expectations and just told me flat out what to expect / room to negotiate. |
