RSX headlight bulb opinions

Hi guys, just wondering what brand of bulbs other RSX owners are running in their cars and how do you like them?
Is anyone running LED bulbs?

Regular halogens for me. I haven't seen HIDs or LED's that retain a good cutoff.

Look for Philips XtremeVision (+100/+130s) halogen bulbs.

Compared to Sylvania Silverstars, they last longer and shine brighter. This is because they don't have the blue coating that reduces light over the entire filament.

LEDs don't have the same light pattern as halogen bulbs, so while your short throw (nearby) light will seem brighter, the long throw light will be worse because the housing's can't direct the light in the right direction.

For sure! I have a 7th gen Accord that I swear has the most useless headlights at night, so I did a lot of research into my options.

For a halogen, the Philips are the best.

If you have 9005/9006 bulbs, look into HIR (not HID) headlights.
9011/9012 have the same output pattern as 9005/9006 respectively, but at double the lumens.

Otherwise, Philips has a handy automotive lighting finder that will tell you what type of bulb and what options they offer you: Philips Automotive Bulb Look-up | Find bulbs for your vehicle

The RSX runs H1 bulbs.
Which specific model worked best for you?
How much and where did you buy them from?
Going to buy bulbs today.

I have the Xtremevision now (+100), used to have XtremePower (+80) before they improved it. They are the best halogen bulb you can find in terms of output. I see no reason to get "Xenon like" color bulbs like the CrystalVision or the Superstars if they're not going to improve output.

I got them from Amazon US at the time, but Amazon Canada seems to sell the H1 Xtremevisions that you're looking for. Not sure if Amazon link is allowed here, but if you search Philips H1 Xtremevision on Amazon Canada, you'll see the 2 Pack for $40 CAD shipped.

If you want the best output possible and long bulb life, you could always properly retrofit a HID kit, with the proper projectors and everything. It costs some money and takes effort, though.

The Retrofit Source sells some good projectors.

Xenon Depot LED in Toyota halogen projectors aren't bright enough

in the RSX I have Morimoto XB D4S retrofitted with mini-H1 lenses...IMHO worth the legwork esp in rainy Vancouver, and I hate cutting shit up, so that says a lot

Stick with OEM. Aftermarket ones don't last any you will have to replace often.
