$40 bucks is no chump change. If I had that kind of thinking in my younger days, I wouldn't be where I am today.

While you're completing this transaction, I would like to sell you this very fine bridge...

MG1 02-17-2018 01:16 PM

As long as it isn't the Tallahatchie Bridge.

or the Bridge over Troubled Water

Spoiler!

You know how they say, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" :okay:

Well, that wasn't the case this weekend!!!

It totally worked. No issues at all.

He sent us the confirmation #'s the morning of, went to the "prepaid" ticket window and picked up our tickets, made our way to blackcomb and scanned in no problem.

We then sent him the paypal via "goods and services", just to be super safe, but had no problems at all.

I would definitely recommend him to anyone else. It worked out for us. Saved us $140 over two days (four passes). I know that's not a lot to some of you in this thread, but that's a lot for us. It was worth the risk for us since we could pay after we got the tickets, glad we did it.

Also, like another member said, you only really need the pass at the first lift, once you're up top they have the scanning gates, but there is no one checking up top, they only check at the bottom.

We won't be going up to whistler again this season, but hopefully he's still around next season!

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm still curious if the guy purchased them legitimately or if it was with a stolen CC that hadn't been cancelled yet. Even if they work, if it's fraudulently purchased then someone along the line is getting screwed.

what's really sad here are whistler prices making people resort to going through this much trouble to ski affordably

Dragon-88 02-19-2018 11:15 AM

I honestly stopped going to Whistler, Its over crowded and way to packed for my liking. I've always enjoyed more of the interior mountains like Sun Peaks, on a family day weekend(last year) the lines at the lifts we no longer than 5 minutes. So you could get plenty runs in, way cheaper than whistler and more quiet/secluded if you're that type.

I guess it could be with a stolen credit card, but another member here posted they did the same thing with their friends co-worker, so it may be legitimate.

I haven't been to Whistler since 2016, but holy crow was it packed. I'm not sure if it was because Vail bought Whistler, but this is the busiest i've ever seen it. The amount of international visitors was incredible. Entire families were up there, and you could just tell these people had money, it's simply amazing.

So I don't think Whistler cares about the locals who can't afford $155 lift tickets, when their international visitors will pay top dollar all day.

What's more interesting is the day we were leaving, we saw so many people coming off of the mountain. It was like 11am and people were calling it a day. It's like, you paid over $100 for a ticket and you're gonna spend only a couple hours on the mountain??? Like what the heck

I agree there are a lot more people now and it was super busy, but I found on the mountain, it wasn't that busy. There was never a time I thought, man, there are way too many people on the mountain. The lines moved quickly and I don't think we ever waited more than 10mins for a lift and it was usually 5mins or less.

Logistically, everything was moving very well.
