It was so bad Colin Kaepernick stood up.

Wasn't THAT bad... imo

I expected a complete trainwreck, forgetting words, etc... But nope, just a kind of awkward rendition

Anthems aren't really songs you want to "make your own."

National anthems are steeped in tradition - Fergie should just save the embellishments for her own songs.

It wasn't terrible but it sounded like a seedy New York jazz bar version of the national anthem. All she needed to complete the look is her laying on top of a piano and a ton of smoke.

I watching it, then turned it off.. I hate it when they try to anthems their own or any songs.. lol you can sing along..

It was self indulgent but what do you expect when you get a pop star to do the anthem? If you want to have a traditional anthem, get a no name studio singer to do it.

I didn't think it was that bad either. A lot of singers seem to want to make the song "their own", Pink did it at the Super Bowl, Lady Gaga, to name a couple; although theirs wasn't as extreme. I don't necessarily agree with it though, usually you'll see the audience and/or the athletes sing/whisper along, when it's so far from the original, it's hard to do.

The youngsters may not remember this but after seeing it, Fergie's rendition isn't so bad...

i like the fat white guy at canucks games. a version that the crowd knows def gets the crowd into the game.....

Mark Donnelly sang better when he was fat. Just saying.

On a side note, Donnelly is a men's league hockey goalie. He plays for my buddy's team, and he's actually pretty solid in net.
