!Aznboi128 04-20-2018 10:01 AM

oh damn wonder what it could be

originalhypa 04-20-2018 11:04 AM

He was a super heavy drinker and has been sick for a while now. Sad, because he didn't even make it to 30. I guarantee that he lived more in his 28 years than most of us will live in 75.

RIP.

Boostslut 04-20-2018 12:39 PM

RIP, that's too bad. Never heard of him though?..

You must have heard of this track. Over 1.4 billion views

Hear he had pancreatitis but kept drinking.

BIC_BAWS 04-20-2018 01:03 PM

WHAT?! NOOOOOO... really wanted to see him at one point too. Genuinely sad, I don't remember if I've actually seen him, but I remember the entire stadium singing along to his songs.

Mr.Money 04-20-2018 01:41 PM

screw that country shit...i always heard this co-produced song by him playing on the radios

blkgsr 04-20-2018 01:42 PM

RIP

You had never gone to a club before?

GS8 04-20-2018 03:29 PM

Another artist lived hard and died young.

Never liked this new wave of EDM or the whole 'I'm a DJ but I'm actually a producer but I actually have a team of ghost producers'.

Either way, he was still an entertainer and performer so kudos to him and his career.

You must be living under a Texas-sized rock lol ... I'm not much into EDM but I know of him, he was everywhere. Pretty on the same level as Calvin Harris, David Guetta, etc.
RIP

Cause of death has not yet been released. There are speculations of suicide.

RIP

twitchyzero 04-20-2018 10:49 PM

i cringe at hits like 'wake me up'

but he was only a week older than me and i got sad his life was cut so short even if he lived hard

then i realized many big artists from the 90s all died in their 20s...kurt cobain Aaliyah tupac biggie smalls

Gerbs 04-21-2018 12:56 AM

Went to his last tour when he started to cancel shows due to his illness. Pretty happy I got to see him one last time on his road to Ultra tours in Asia in 2016.
rip.

RIP Avicii

It's crazy to think that he's only 28 and has accomplished so much

Same here, not sure why you're being failed. Based on this page it sounds like pretty standard techno music to me. RIP nonetheless

Wouldn't put him in the same level as Calvin Harris and David Guetta. Those guys are just pop artists, who turned edm pop shit because it was the next thing (2015).

Obviously, he wasn't Hardwell/Armin/A&B level, but I'd say Zedd level? Avicii headlined a couple of shows here, back when Blueprint weren't such cheap fucks.

I believe he actually made his own music. He was learning to make music, and found house. He actually previously said that singing in English and making songs in English was hard for him, bc its not his native language.

I actually like big room house until the radio stations caught wind of it and blew my interests into the masses. Then it got annoying for everyone. Then you got the regular pop artists like David Guetta saying they're "DJs" L O L .

I've stopped following edm since trap started taking over. Or when non hardstyle artists start doing hardstyle bc it's the next thing.

N.V.M. 04-21-2018 04:17 AM

already way more responses than Gord Downie's RIP thread. fuck you all.

ae101 04-21-2018 05:56 AM

I'm not a huge of avcii as it was starting to give me that pop EDM feeling........also the fact that I heard wake up like 6 time in 1 night in 3 different clubs lol

But never the less, only the good die young rip

MG1 04-21-2018 05:59 AM

Even I've heard of him. Did not know he was Swedish. Anyway, when I started listening to techno again, Levels was one of the first tracks I downloaded. RIP. So young.

BTW, techno has been around since the 70's. Anyone remember "Pop" 1969!!

RRxtar 04-21-2018 06:01 AM

Bpm on Sirius ran a memoriam all day yesterday and tiesto, armin, like mike and a dozen other djs called in most of them thought he had things turned around and that 2018 was going to be a positive year for him. No one knew why he was in Oman because he was planning on going to Coachella this weekend.

For anyone wondering apparently he actually took the last 2-3 years off of touring to deal with his issues and only made music. Tiesto went into it quite a bit about how bad his anxiety and stage fright was, he hated DJing and only wanted to produce music. Super talented musician.
