Vehicle washing in Vancouver

So, I was told that BBY, Surrey and coquitlam you are not allowed to wash your car on your driveway if the run off goes into the storm drain.

However was not able to find anything in regards to that in Vancouver. Anyone know? Or rather what is everyone else doing to wash their cars now?

Very interesting.

I guess that makes sense, but that disqualifies like 90% of people who wash their car outside.

Still have not found anything in regards to Vancouver. However their, sewage regulations does say no chemicals. Which technically is Car soap, detail spray, wax, wheel cleaners etc.

This only applies to the run off to the street sewage though I think. Where as the drainage under your home, I think is still legal?

Yes, I do 3 buckets hehe. I got very picky neighbors, so if this is illegal then I got a good chance they will call and complain. Might have to resort to rinseless wash. But, how the hell do u do that for wheels coated with brake dust from Brembos

Being that this is a Car forum, I would assume car wash is not the norm. Car detailing or modding a vehicle is enjoyment for car enthusiast.

Mental note -- I can't live in Burnaby, Surrey, and Coquitlam.

you can always use a rinseless washing system if you're worried about it.
take like 6 good microfibers and optimum no rinse, and a few drying rags.
when done dump the leftover dirty soap in the toilet

Everyone park in front of Badhobz's house and wash their car this summer!

But fuck, if Vancouver has this rule I've been breaking it for years.

I haven't seen any signs in my apartment about this in Burnaby.

I did just purchase this and am very excited to give it a try. Skip to 9:42 to see it on some dirty cars.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax if you keep your car clean enough you dont even need todo the bucket method and just wash it inside your garage

The document posted for Surrey states that you can wash your car in your driveway, but you should direct the suds and water runoff into landscaping or gravel.

I've never come across an auto car wash which meets my standards, but I admit I've only used them a handful of times. I will use the self-car wash, but try to stick to spray/rinse only. A number of times I've pulled into the stall to discover mud everywhere and a brush teeming with rocks and sand. Maybe this isn't an issue in the city, but I can't trust those brushes.

I would like to find a place that offers power wash only then, I can bring my own bucket system and chemicals if need be.

But, I think most of those places will not allow you to bring your wash stuff and stay and hold up a spot like that.

This might be the only option. But, will be only a last resort for me. I like foaming up my car and rinsing . Been doing since I was young and feel this gives a more clean feel.

Also, kinda hard to do for brake dust inside the barrels.

The way most houses are built with driveways are it is sloped away from the house and into the streets which go towards the sewers.

Yah, just wished my lot size was large enough that I can actually have a flat area to wash vehicles. But, Vancouver that is almost impossible.
