Ehhh, I couldn't really give a fuck when I die whether it's 10 years from now or 10 days from now. I just live and see what happens. Seeing as I primarily live for others, whatever happens to me would be an act of nature. From alcoholics who had no long-term damage to their bodies to 8 glasses of water / day types who are plagued with issues and from brutally poor people who lived into their 90s to healthy, wealthy who offed themselves at a younger age. Yup, I've seen it all in my lifetime. Though on a side note, I haven't touched a drink in the last 11 weeks since I've been fighting a disease for the last 11 weeks. Just in time for patio weather  |

That being said, there's generally two ways to improve your lifespan (how long you live) & healthspan (how healthy you are during those years you're living), not taking into account accidental deaths: 1. Win the generic lottery: See the anecdotal examples in this thread. Donald Trump is also a good example of this. 2. If you don't have the lottery gene, you will improve your lifespan and healthspan by taking care of yourself: - Avoiding consuming stuffs that is really bad for you like cigarettes and alcohol (this is actually worse than smoking marijuana). - Pick up heavy things, put them down and repeat. Strength building really improve your healthspan. - Eat food from good sources (don't come in a can) - Extras like caloric restriction regime (IF) is also pretty healthy, especially for busy people. Human's organs deteriorate at accelerated rate from 70s forward so 50 is a poor point of reference. Just assume you don't have the lottery gene and take care of yourself. |

Like how would it extend someone's lifespan of make it more fulfilling? |
Time. Imagine everyone had to get 8 hours of sleep everyday but you didnt need to. Time lets you discover what inspires you.. expand your horizons, lets you move forward rather then being shackled to a repetitive time consuming job. You take an 18 year old out of high school, their world might be mentally active serving young people of the opposite sex working at McDonalds... they enjoy it! They havent had time to grow or understand the meaning of life. I feel men in society frown upon marriage and kids but a natural way of life is to find companionships, have children and take care of each other until death. People have been programed to just consume and seek cheap pleasures. I find it hard to believe that there are satisfying jobs out there for 90% of the population. Its a rat race where working 5 days a week for 30-50 years is the norm. |
Don't really care when I die. In fact I think in todya's world it is better to actually die sooner. I mean why would I want to lie in bed/wheel chair not being able to move just to live? I been to a carring home where my grandma used to live. Most of the people there are in thier 70s to 90s some are still healthy but most of them are in wheel chair unable to move, using diapers, they can't even eat on their own. That's not living and I would rather die early healthy than to be in that state just living. Another reason is financial. I read somewhere that mention in order to live the way we do now after we retire we need $1 million dollars (I think that was to live till you are like 90). Yea not going to have a million. |
As someone who had a root canal 20 years ago, barely eats fruits(avocados/coconut oil mainly), enjoys working under stress, and likes coffee I guess my time will soon be up? I think the key is to not be lazy and trying to learn no matter what your age. |
Keep meaning in your life and that should grant you happiness. Keep stress managed so it isn't overwhelming. Keep movement/stretching/exercise in your life as well. That's 80% of life right there. Not smoking cigs, not excessively using chemical drugs or alcohol, and not drowning in processed sugar will better your chances as good as any. Everything else is just opinion, in my opinion, as every person is different. Genes play a big role as well. Why live to be 80 years old if all your doing is struggling to live that long? That's no fun. I'm sure health nuts die early due to hereditary diseases all the time. Live your life, have good balance, surround yourself with people you love and who love you back. That's all one could ask. Worrying about every little detail and trying to follow dietary trends is way to fucking stressful. Keep it simple, keep it easy. Life itself is hard enough, why add to that. |

Personally I think this interpretation that people are just slaves for their job is very misplaced. Man has taken pleasure in contributing to his society/clan/tribe since his dawn. Not only does it give us security and meaning, but connectivity to our society. It's why multiple studies have shown direct correlation between unemployment and depression. |
My data comes from being a member of the majority Anglo posting Bodybuilding.com website. 1. there is no unity of a tribe\society. -A There is no emphasis on supporting family and extended cousin (inter marriage) members as was in historic or other society models. -B Racist-ism against blacks is so sever that threads about blacks get shutdown. -C General narcissism -D Jobs basically contribute to advancing corporations which are to further our demise. 2. Marriage and children are frowned upon. ---- And to keep with the topic at hand, you can get blood cancer from living by high powered electric lines, Roundup Ready pesticide by Monsanto which is mass used on crops, bacteria, benzene and petrochemicals, hair dyes, cigarettes, etc... One has to learn and navigate the system that you live in. |
bodybuilding.com. Well then.. |
I think its a fair model representing society to base my assumptions on. |
Try home and garden forums. See if you draw a different conclusion |

I suggest you upgrade to 4chan though, it's a much more accurate online representation of western culture. |
actually it's fairly well known amongst very well experienced and old doctors... and geneticists... that the major factor that contributes to a long life is just your genetics. mental health also majorly relies on genetics too. but not as much. |
https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/primer/traits/longevity here's an easy to read intro article for more info. just you guys wait till they perfect gene editing and when it can be executed easily (maybe not easily by law lol). lol the title of this thread is also hilarious. you'd have to have the worst genetics, or have some fucking horrible life style, or die from external reasons, if you didn't live past 50. |
I heard about epidemiology effecting ones genes to effect offspring, but havent seen a solid video on the aging subject. Without the internet being popular, these poor souls had no chance to know that fake sugars are toxic. edit - link corrected Artificial Sweetener Cyclamate Banned (news clip) youtube.com/watch?v=I3NIfILcdYY |

and you're so retarded not only do you misspell basic words "effecting" but dont understand the concept of what is "toxic" this mfer figured it out 500 years ago and you still got people in 2018 struggling with this concept, SMDH http://slideplayer.com/5855845/19/im...with+being.jpg |
"scientifically studied"... just like everything else that is "safe" to eat in our system. 50 years ago people like you laughed at everyone that said cigarettes cause cancer... because scientifically studied! |
The dose makes the poison. Just by living on this planet, you already have millions of Plutonium atoms in your body. You're not dead because it's a safe amount. You have trace amounts of every known substance in your body. Water toxicity Vitamin toxicity Oxygen toxicity They're all real things. Too much of a good thing can indeed kill you. |

So say you have a pregnant wife, what is maximum number of aspartame cans you'd let her drink in a week? Its not going to kill anyone. |
