Upcoming automotive events, Car Shows, Show and Shines

It's been a long time since I've attended a good car event. So long, that I've lost track of what's happening over the spring and summer. I spotted something about a show coming up this weekend. I figured, let's start a thread.

Big Timers CC is putting on a show this weekend at Jack's Public House in Surrey, 152 and 91st ave (just off Fraser hwy). It looks like a lowrider style show, but their site has a variety of cars.

On June 24th, is the Stay Gold show at HD Stafford school in Langley. It's in memory of an old buddy of mine, and a local lowriding legend and proceeds go to mental health groups.

Stay Gold Custom Car Show ? To Benefit Mental Health | Surrey, BC

It's put on by Strong CC, and will be a lowrider, hot rod type show.

On weekends, there's always a car meet at the Time Hortons/A&W at 24th ave and 192 st in South Surrey. The bonus for this meet is that you can take a cruise down to White Rock for ice cream.

Everybody loves ice cream.

Anything else going on?
Maybe something import based? I'm getting tired of these exotic circle jerks that seem to dominate the car scene these days.

Great list, and thanks for reminding me of another show I heard about the other day.

On June 10th, the BC Chevelle, Beaumont and El Camino club is hosting an all makes show at Donegal's pub in Surrey.

This meetup on 24/192 is closer to Brookswood where almost every house has a project car or two. It brings a lot of neat cars. Some examples I saw last year include: Lotus', Ferrari, tuned imports, JDM cars, drift cars, and (once) a cobra.

https://www.facebook.com/carbsncoffee/ also brings out a bunch of air cooled porsches

Brookswood has always been a hotbed of automotive activity. Most of my old lowrider buddies lived south of 40th ave. They had cool cars while their dads had their hotrods. It was a good scene.

Thanks for the carbs and coffee link. That looks like a cool group.

I took my G8 here a few times. It's not a bad show but more something you stop by and get your lurk on while on your way to another show.

I guess that works too. A bunch of us old geezers like originalhypa can have dim sum together while sipping on Jasmine tea, reminiscing when we used to street race in "done up" Acura Integras with a Greddy turbo kit, and how rice tore the scene apart.

Jokes aside, I was referring to the old "Boom" car show ages ago when RS first started. Those were the days. Sort of. Not really.

BOOM show days at Lansdowne were epic. My first taste of modified vehicles in the early to mid-90's. Stromung and Sheep Dog were huge back then. I had Intrax springs in my Hyundai Scoupe

Had a chance to go to the exotics@RTC in Redmond, Washington. I believe it's every Saturday during the summer (weather permitting).
Spoiler!
