Well, they traded Erik Johnson (1st overall) to Colorado for Shattenkirk, who in turn was traded for a package that included Sanford (who won the cup with them) and picks, which were part of a package to acquire Brayden Schenn (5th overall pick).
They traded the 9th overall pick (Logan Couture) for a handful of other picks (Eller, Palushaj, Schultz) which turned into a few years of Halak.
