Im witness to it when my mom told her doctor she was depressed because of just being divorced.

Whats wrong in the world is that North America itself is the sacrificial lamb (wars, GMO's, culture) for world domination goals.
one has to learn how to navigate the system thats working against you.

When I saw a news alert in my email about him in the middle of the night I immediately knew that he had died, but I NEVER expected by suicide.

Definitely watch his tv series in order - see how he had evolved and find new depth in his life. He was raw, crass, a little dark, grateful but with a bit of a chip on his shoulder in A Cook's Tour. Seemed like he was always looking behind him as if he was on borrowed time. On Part's Unknown, he's so philosophical, lost a noticeable amount of edginess and seemed to be more at peace with having an influential opinion.

Through him, I finally understood how food is a universal language. He was always genuine, an amazing raconteur, incredibly humble, brutally honest and open with his vices. He must have been fighting those demons for a long time for it to end like this. I really hope he's at peace now. The world definitely feels a little emptier.

There are many healthy individuals who lead healthy and active lifestyles, eat right, and don't consume drugs, yet cannot escape the debilitating effects of depression, and in some cases leads to them taking their own life.

The lack of nuance in your comment pollutes important conversations on mental health and drug addiction, depriving our ability to have honest and meaningful dialogue on two very important health topics. These are two separate issues, and while there is overlap between the two its negligent to lump them together for the sake of reaching some generalized conclusion.

My post isn't meant as a personal attack on you blkgsr. Your post struck a cord in me because i've unfortunately lost people close to me from suicide. Each instance brought my attention to the fact that signs of depression can be elusive. Beneath the veneer of a cheerful smile and bubbly personality can lay a corroded interior slowly decaying the person from within, all the while never emitting the slightest sign of trouble to those around them.

while i agree my comment may have been too broad and generalizing when it comes to suicide and former drug use, but i still feel in his case the drug and alcohol use in his younger days still had their affect on his mental state in the long term

i have family that work in mental health, i have family that have been substance abusers, i have personal experience with how these parts of society mix and cause effects on each other

so while my comment could have been possibly worded slightly different to not be so direct, i still feel it has merit in his situation

If you can't handle the RS blend and it hurts your little feelings it's you that should "get out"

Looks like that goth chick was cheating on him.

Perfect. Here comes the world blaming an unfaithful woman for a mans suicide. Come on.
No matter what you look up or what you find out, you really have no fucking clue his reasons. You don’t know someone’s thoughts unless they tell you, and even then they may be untruthful, unexplainable, etc. Bourdain decided (or his illness decided, whatever it may be) that life was no longer for him. For that momentary lapse there was belief there was no end to the pain other than this. Don’t put motives on it, as there is no way anyone other than him knows, and to act as if you have the answer is a great disrespect to him.

It's a great motivator though. When it happens, money in the bank doesn't matter, nor fame or the ability to get another partner. If that was the case for Bourdain, I get it. When you're in love, your world revolves around 1 person; it becomes the basis of your happiness about everything. When that base is crushed/destroyed, you lose meaning or the ability of happiness to things that used to give them to you.
