Recommendations for Detail Oriented Auto Body Shops

Hey everyone,

I need recommendations on auto body shops who have high attention to detail. I've tried a few highly credited ICBC shops such as Fast track etc. They do an alright job, but I feel like their main priority is just to get the car in and out as fast as possible.

The shop doesn't have to be ICBC accredited, quality of work is most important. Where are all the old school body guys who work on classic show cars at? -Must be willing to work on imports too

What type of car? what do you need done?
I’m surprised to hear that about fast track. What didn’t you like about fast track and these other shops and maybe I can point you in the right direction

I think OP is looking for a shop that isn't a volume-based shop, where the work is often fixed price / fixed outcome. Often with shops that are ICBC accredited, they risk an opportunity cost by working on someones passion project.

Having said that, I understand Korva World Class Collision is not a bad shop. I could be wrong, however.

Asking mainly for future reference, but would be for Hondas and other Japanese vehicles. I just had one of my cars done and wasn't too thrilled. My experience from past shops range from imperfections due to poor prep, clips/foam washers painted right over, to mediocre paint match. I'm not discrediting their skill, but they just don't seem to care much unless you own a Mclaren (just generalizing here).

I've actually visited George's before, he seemed very knowledgeable but didn't want to work on my aftermarket fiberglass bumper.

I will admit I am OCD when it comes to my cars.

Also surprised to hear that about Fastrack. Regarding your bumper honestly majority of shops hate working on aftermarket and/or fiberglass parts. The age old you get what you pay for if you're looking for attention to detail work. That's the honest truth. Although I don't know your last situation with Fastrack was though....

I'd be willing to pay more for quality work...looking to have a full front end refresh done in the next couple months. Has anyone tried the shops on lower lonsdale near the Quay? I always see classics parked outside.

Does it really need paint or can a good polisher take care of it? If your looking for a front end refresh you’ll most likely need to blend into the doors to guarantee the color match. Let the shop know your fussy, want to pay for any denibbing that needs to be done and if any clips are broken you want them replaced with oem. Sometimes oem clips can be $5+ ea and when you need 20 it get expensive and people don’t want to pay for these expensive pieces of plastic.

Tom's Custom Auto Body did my friends PY ITR and it was a big job. Fender flares on all 4 corners, complete front end, complete paint, etc. Months worth of work. He was very impressed though.

i just want a wing painted - hey a$$holes, you're not ICBC stooges. every body shop i visit doesn't want the work. They'd rather do terrible "express" beige camry bumper resprays for 5k

where are the painters that just want to paint stuff? no insurance claims, just get paid to do good work for regular jobs. It's either insurance jobs, or concourse restoration work.
