I post a lot of stuff for sale on craigslist mostly cars & car stuff like wheels and exterior cosmetic stuff.
So I find the question they like to ask most " for example if I was selling wheels" they would ask what car did these wheels come off of. Just wondering why they ask. Shouldn't they be more concerned about what vehicle they will be putting these wheels on?
Or if your selling a car, they often ask was it a male driver or female driving the car.
Hahah maybe my question is just pointless as their's " only in my opinion.
wheels - if it came off an acura, i can find details and match to see if it will go on a charger
male/female - females do not drive their cars as males - generally speaking
valid questions on all fronts imo.

maybe for offset purposes too. if you get asked the same questions everytime, you should just include that information right from the start. saves you and the buyer the hassle of having to ask/answer it later.
Your for sale as should be so detailed that the only thing they need to ask you is, if it’s still available, and when they can pick it up. For example here’s the ad I have for my wheels on CL right now. THIS is how every ad should be written
For sale is a set of four HRE 841R wheels with tires. Very rare set of wheels, high quality and great fitment for focus ST and RS.
Reason for sale: this is my track setup for my focus RS. Looking to drop down to 18" for larger selection of tires. Wheels were balanced by myself personally, no vibration at 200+km/h. Only downside to wheels is that over this weekend one centrecap has gone MIA. Minor blemishes, to be expected for track wheels.
Specs
- 19x8.5 et42
- 5x108 bolt pattern
- 63.3mm hub bore (Ford, Volvo etc)
- 3 piece wheels, billet centres. Gloss black lips, satin black centres.
- 3x centre caps, one came off on track
- minor wear from track
- Michelin Pilot Super Sports
- 235/35r19
- 8/32 tread depth x4 (new is 10/32)
- 04/17 production date x4
- no plugs or patches
- about 3000km road use, one track day of wear.
Don't need to sell, but would like to switch it up for next track day. Not interested in splitting tires from wheels, would rather just give them an honorable death (via track)

I only get super annoyed if the question they ask was already answered in the ad... or when people say “I have cash!!!” It’s like what the fuck else were you going to pay me with? A credit card?

lol at being annoyed people ask you what car they are off. Would your rather they ask "will these fit my 1983 Ford Tempo?" Asking what car they come off of is an intelligent question suggesting they will research further to see if they fit their car, without wasting more of your time.
Along with all details, specs, bore size, offset, model it came off of, etc., I put, "If you see ad, it means they are still available". Technically, it should even eliminate the email, "Are they still available?" and get right to "When are you available to show?"
Well thats the thing , usually detailed while writing ads. For wheels - Of course wheel size, wheel width, wheel offset, bore size, used how long, and current condition.

Is a pretty idiotic question imo, of all the variables between drivers I'd hardly consider gender to be important. If someone asked me a dumbassd question like that I'd let them know exactly where in the spectrum I fit
I have purchased many used wheels. I used to ask what car they were off of as well and would do my own research. Plenty of sellers have no idea the specs.
