I tried, but I guess I didn't do a very good job of not making it sound like I was happy these people died, or that I was celebrating their death. My reaction is more like "meh, they died doing something they knew would lead to their death.. They HAD to have expected it"

And on top of that, they went around destroying (or at least endangering) very important ecological landmarks... So they won't be doing that anymore either.

Also a comment on social media, and how it encourages dumb people to do even dumber things for attention.

I hope none of that makes it seem like I am happy someone died. If it was a guy walking his dog, I would be very sad. With these kids, like I said, it's more like they do it all the time and it is pretty much an extended suicide in order to gain attention from strangers (and maybe make some money, not sure if they had sponsors other than their rich parents).

the guys in question are SAR baits chasing click dollars...not just wasting resources but risking volunteers' lives...acted like gigantic assholes on the international stage and degraded local cultures (see Holocaust photo) certainly doesn't help with their sympathy case

To be fair, the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin is overrun by idiots taking smiley selfies and posing. These guys are hardly the only ones that do this. They (and all the others) probably know exactly what this place means but don't give a shit. Other Asian tourists I've seen doing this there probably don't understand the significance of it or give a shit either - I saw a Chinese tourist do a Nazi salute in front of the Berlin Wall FFS. I wanted to smack that idiot so badly. Shit like that gets you arrested in Germany.

Depends I seen a ton of people on youtube not doing dumb shit and still got a ton of audience. Some actually help/guide you. There are lot's of DIY channels that teach you how to fix shit around your house/cook/building shit etc etc....

While any death is unfortunate, seeing that two fewer people will be causing damage and disrespect to the world seems like a good thing overall.

The problem is most people don't realize the consequences extend far beyond their own death. Their friends, family, emergency workers, witnesses, and anyone who may try to help are going to be impacted as well.

I'd say intentionally damaging multiple fragile ecosystems and disrespecting memorial sites isn't even close to being offset by helping a few friends out.

The average person In India or China probable does more harm to the environment then these guys ever did.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing most Asian/brown parents when I was growing up would not their kids fly off jumps with there bikes. Moms would be scared kids would get hurt, Dads would be scared the bike would get damaged. Immigrant parents and people from poorer countries are more focused and education and keep a roof over your head. Ever watch Teen jeopardy Asian kids always get killed in the pop culture categories. Funny in my BMX "crew" growing up in nanaimo, IIRC we white kids were the minority. We were mostly indian friends, vietnamese, one chinese kid and a FN kid in our group LUL
