The only thing that would have made this video better is if the cop yelled WORLD STAR as he shot through his windshield

Jesus... he could have just as easily have shot himself.

In Canada, he would have been forced to call off pursuit as soon as speeds reached 40km/h+ over and follow from a distance, DEFINITELY off if they were shooting, super dangerous to the public, air monitoring brought in and ERT/roadblocks set up.

While I don't disagree with you at all in the way the officer was just freely shooting while driving, there is a big difference in gun culture between Canada and USA.

Shooting the gun like that probably isn't as unheard of over there, unlike Canada, where just pulling out a gun is already a big deal.

This might be all too common in the States, so they're probably desensitized and the protocol to just shoot 'em dead on the go to end the pursuit might be one of the options for them, even if it's a pretty poor one.

Thing is, anyone familiar with ballistics should realize the potential of shooting your self in that situation, has nothing to do with gun culture, I’d say it’s alarming that the cop didn’t realize the potential. If you’re gonna be that wreckless you might as well just shoot out the side window

And this is a guy with lots of training. Just imagine all the people in the states with guns and zero training.

Mission accomplished. GJ by the officer cause the end result worked. You guys ain't in his shoes so dont judge.

vitaminG 07-19-2018 11:59 AM

i would like to point out that even here it is perfectly legal for anyone to use a two way radio while driving.

Mr.Money 07-19-2018 06:25 PM

that police officer was lucky he didn't blind himself with glass fragments or the risk of the 9mm lead too.

he got the job done, but i'd be worried about my ass catching a stray bullet flying around, some piece of shit in vancity one time shot halfways across the block and it hit a 16 year old kid right in the chest while in the passenger middle seat at a stop light on the news recently this year...he died.

thats how fucking risky it is to be treating the road like a shooting range, the cop was lucky that didn't happen with a whole clip of ammo he just left off

Manic! 07-19-2018 06:51 PM

I'm surprised he didn't kick out the window like they do in the movies.

i was thinking more on the lines of turning the gun sideways and screaming
BREAK YO-SELF FOO!!!

Gerbs 07-19-2018 07:25 PM

Can't imagine being shot at, must be scary. I'd imagine most logic/training goes out the window when that happens.

Mr.Money 07-21-2018 05:53 AM

If the suspect had a loaded weapon the officer would have been in trouble. Empty weapon stepping out before reloading.

SoNaRWaVe 07-21-2018 09:30 PM

start the vid at 2:25 mark, the officer says there were shots fired. and there was no confirmation if that came from the officer in front of him chasing, or if it was from the suspect.

the officer would have assumed it would be the suspect. but with adrenaline rushing, who knows whats going through the officers mind. probably miscalculated, and could have been a deadly, step.

As soon as they shoot at police, it's their duty to neutralize the threat.

eclipseman 07-21-2018 10:27 PM

This media briefing confirms the officers involved and how many shots they fired.
