Is it normal to shoot through your windshield while driving?

I'm guessing the innocent U-Haul driver, who was side by side with the suspect, would like to know the answer to that as well.

Hondaracer 07-18-2018 11:21 AM

seems completely ineffective to shoot through the windshield..

super cop though eventually got his man lol fuck

originalhypa 07-18-2018 11:24 AM

you are a bunch of pussies.
I shoot through the windshield all the time in GTA5.

:drunk:

BIC_BAWS 07-18-2018 11:25 AM

So why do police cars not have bullet proof front windshields.. ?

blkgsr 07-18-2018 11:28 AM

holy fuck talk about errant bullets hitting bystanders, that's insane shooting directly down the road

68style 07-18-2018 11:32 AM

That is a horrible idea, this is the difference between law enforcement training (or lack thereof) in the USA as opposed to Canada. Especially in Canada, depending on the rake of the windshield, 9mm bullets have even been known to bounce off. Buddy been watching too many action movies... Jesus... he could have just as easily have shot himself.

In Canada, he would have been forced to call off pursuit as soon as speeds reached 40km/h+ over and follow from a distance, DEFINITELY off if they were shooting, super dangerous to the public, air monitoring brought in and ERT/roadblocks set up.

Dragon-88 07-18-2018 11:39 AM

I like the one hand/ no hand fast driving.. I wonder what kinda training it takes to be able to do that. I'm surprised in this day and age, cops dont use a headset or something to help speak in to a radio.

bcedhk 07-18-2018 11:47 AM

with all those buttons and tech nowadays im surprise they dont offer a hands free option for them to talk to the dispatch. driving at that speed with one hand is quite dangerous.

It was looked at -- too expensive, super heavy, distorts vision, doesn't allow for an access point to smash through in an accident and/or emergency to get the officer out... those are some of the logistical/TC/safety issues related to it.

smoothie. 07-18-2018 12:17 PM

im impressed with the one hand driving, correcting and radio use

I guess they are better at it than us

Shooting out of his moving car aside. He sounds absolutely terrified, and yet he chased them down as if his life depended on it. That takes serious dedication to your role as a police officer.

It's his job.. Not taking anything away from him, but it's literally what he does for a living.

Badhobz 07-18-2018 06:39 PM

My question is why it's justified to kill this guy just for running away from the cops. This kinda shit just urks me.

MarkyMark 07-18-2018 06:41 PM

Yeah scared cop wildly emptying the clip in public what a hero.

H.Specter 07-18-2018 06:47 PM

I always thought the cops travelled in pairs?

Police: Body camera footage shows 'bravery' of officer during La - KMOV.com

Suspects had just killed a man 2 hours prior to that and were shooting at that officer during the pursuit.

Not saying continuing the pursuit was the correct choice, but considering that the suspect was firing at the pursuing police car, I'd say deadly force was warranted.

Sure but not at the expense of innocent bystanders. He was just as likely to blow his own dick off from a ricochet as he was hitting the suspect through his windshield.

twitchyzero 07-18-2018 09:36 PM

the older Expedition does not stand a chance of outrunning the new Explorers

Nlkko 07-18-2018 10:16 PM

Why are you shooting through the windshield for no reason guy.

welfare 07-18-2018 10:42 PM

Shudder to think what these vatos might have done if that school door was unlocked, with kids inside.

Personally think the cops did an outstanding job. Above and beyond.
Definitely don't think they're deserving of criticism for it. Not in my humble opinion

twitchyzero 07-18-2018 10:49 PM

did they ever get that air support before the shoot-out? FeelsBadMan
