At fault scratch/dent what to do?

Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice here.
I was rushing and I parked in this very tight spot and when I was pulling in I accidentally scratched and dented (very lightly) the rear right door of the person next to me. I left a note and finally got a hold of them. I suggested going through a paintless dent removal but I was quoted approx ($8-900). I know a couple guys in body shops that can probably get it done for less but still..
anyways the person was working with me at first but they turned and now they want to go the icbc route which is OK I'm just more concerned about my premiums being affected (currently 43% 10yr driving discount). My car has basically no damage just a small scratch on the bumper.
I'm wondering what would you guys do in this situation? either try and get them to go to my friends shop (icbc certified) and pay out of pocket for the repair or just let them deal with icbc and take the hit?
like I said the damage is very light so I'm sure that if I talk with them they'll work with me. suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

If they choose to go through ICBC, you can pay ICBC back for the cost of repairs and your premiums won't be affected
