Honestly, wouldn't be surprised at all if MGK had a response written last week for this.

You could look at that diddy line in a couple ways.
He may have meant MGK is incapable of putting out a hit just like diddy is incapable of copping to the hit. Because he didn't do it. Like they are impossibilities.

Expectations met. There are so many layers to his bars it's ridiculous. It's crazy to think that still almost 20 years later no one is even close to his lyrical prowess. The way he uses the English language is borderline scientific. That being said, not everyone is down for his style and beat selection and that ultimately ends up being his downfall on some tracks and albums. The criticism he receives is mostly accurate because of those factors and he gets all mad because people didn't get the wording. It's not all about lyrics anymore. Younger fans want swag, style, showmanship, energy, weird rapping styles, repetitive club anthems, etc. and raw lyrical talent gets pushed down the priority list. MGK has decent bars and is talented but honestly I think it's his look and persona that make him as popular as he is. I'm actually kinda down for it and dig it. Breaking News was incredible and his energy is killer but in the end, it's lyrical content that matters in a diss track and he is no match for Eminem on that playing field.
I'm glad he waited almost two weeks to respond. He let the (rap) world grieve from the death of Mac Miller, took time to write bars to keep most of it as a direct clap back to Rap Devil while building suspense, then drops the Lucky You video, and just as that is peaking; BOOM!!, a monster of a comeback. Talk about marketing genius. Someone knew what they were doing. MGK should be thanking Em for pushing his career into the stratosphere. He is a big artist in his own right and definitely talented but in a decade when his name comes up in conversation everyone will be like "Oh yeah, that guy that Eminem worked hard on a diss track. What ever happened to him?"
MGK has an EP coming out on Sept 21st now. It's hard not to think that all of this, like other rap beef, is all marketing.
and you have to look why Em dropped the track today and with the shot at Diddy at the end with today being the anniversary of 2pacs death.
I’m sure taking those shots at Diddy was calculated. This way the response took on bigger names as well instead of being purely about (the relatively little known) MGK.

I agree that Eminem's sound doesn't resonate with the younger generation. Kids these days don't care about lyrics or skills, they want a good beat to grind upon.
I get it.
Eminem's songs aren't club bangers or anything. He's a lyrical genius, but I feel the kids these days don't appreciate that, nor do they care about that.

you guys need to think more,if logan paul self could promote himself to fame and have a bunch of under 19 year old kids buy his shit & project the fakest rich life to them,you need to know mgk can easily do it also to boost his sales & promote a tour.
you already have clowns buying the hype on iTunes for a quick buck while he can,that's all he wanted to do....There's probably people right now who dont even know what the Marshall mathers LP is trying to clue in like they know rap music or hip-hop..

Lyrically, Eminem wins. everyone already knew that. even MGK admits it.
But as far as content, i still think MGK has him beat so far.
A good 80% of the song was just about how much more money and popularity he has. That's pretty much the basis of it. Low hanging fruit.

Every single person who listens to rap got this euphemism.
Lyrically Em is on another level. His comebacks were good but but it's easier to respond than it is to shoot first. MGK's comeback will be the most important bars of his life. No doubt about it.
I like the lines of him dissing Diddy's pill use. Kind of surprised he didn't address Diddy's bisexuality rumors, I figured that would've been an easy way to go at MGK, calling him Diddy's fuckboy, and whatnot. I feel like Em went too much of the braggadocios route, rather then direct.
It's a good diss, I would've liked some more personal scathing bars about MGK, but I get that he's a nobody, it's hard to diss a person that has little in terms of a public image historically.
Sort of how Pusha went at Drake, Pusha lacks the notoriety and public story to make a response interesting on Drake's part.
Killshot was good, I still think MGK's diss was a little more personal, and effective.
It's crazy how everything nowadays is considered "fire" or a "classic", people are being too hyperbolic, Killshot was good, but I don't think it was great.
