It seems to have mostly passed now, and the eye has made landfall near Hainan Island.
My flat faces west in western NT, all I got was a lot of wind that wobbled my building quite a bit. Occasionally very heavy showers. I've been checking the Airport weather fairly regularly, and saw gusts up to 80kts at one point.
No major damage to my estate, but the building next to mine had a shed that had its roof torn off.
Definitely worse than Hato last year, The T10 went up this morning at 9 or 10ish this morning and is still in effect right now as I write this (6:30PM). I don't recall ever seeing a T10 remain for this long.
I'll repost what I put on my Facebook. This was the most stressful day of my life, my wife and I bailing out water by leaky windows and doors. I had to run to the rooftop to clear debris from the drains, including a TV antenna. The rooftop was ankle deep in water already. I slipped and fell going out there but otherwise unscathed. I saw some neighbours watching me from their window in horror, as you do NOT want to be outside during this time.
We have a glass balcony door that faces the valley that was flexing and I swear it was going to break at any time. You could see it flexing. You could see huge gusts of wind carrying rain with it. Worst of all, there's nothing you can do but sit and let nature to its things. We're so irrelevant.
It was also made worse after seeing the damage it was doing to the village.. roofs torn off, air con units flying around, mailboxes flying away, etc. Here's my original facebook post after checking in as "safe" once it was mostly gone:
The worst has passed and we're safe and mostly dry. The shelf holding our dryer unit on the balcony gave way, and the dryer blew away. Some windows are leaking, and power is out. Other than that we're okay.
Same can't be said for our neighbors. The damage is extensive. Main living quarters seem to be fine, but extension and sheds are destroyed. Our neighbor's kitchen shed is completely destroyed and exposed.
Trees are rooted, mailboxes gone, pathways and roads are blocked. It's hard to describe. It looks like the disaster footage you see on TV, but never consider it can happen to you. I'm sure everyone will see plenty of footage of people who were less fortunate than us.
Here's my downstairs neighbour's kitchen shed:
Video from my office window. You can see a roof panel going up to the main road, and you can't see but a large mailbox followed it
There will be tons of insane footage out there, I'll let everyone else post it. That's another thing, usually you go to social media to escape from life, but this stuff kind of stressed me out more. Especially the ones where people had happen exactly what I was fearing
damn, getting electrocuted is not worth trying to minimize the damage from the outside

Rooftop on a village home is like a giant patio floor, not really like a pointed roof... It wasn't as dangerous as you think probably
Oh I didn't mention one of our neighbours left his dogs out in the storm to fend for themselves. They eventually found shelter, but then I saw one of them limping around in front of his door right during the peak of the storm. I tried to call him to let him in our hallway, but he couldn't hear me over the noise and there's no way I could go fetch him.
at least whats coming back out looks relatively clear

Yeah there's no power lines up there, and our building's power was out during that time as well.
It really seemed unsafe to have literally a pool of water in our entire rooftop, especially when every single crack was already leaking water into the house.
I saw a neighbour doing the same thing, but he was up there WAY too long. I just got out there, threw as much as I could over the edge of the roof, and GTFO. Probably 2 minutes tops. The other guy was out there stuffing it into bags for like 10 minutes. He'd stand there while it was gusting.
took a lot longer than usual, but made it
dont have to go through the east rail mess, but train does cut through kowloon tong
lemme tell u.. GG

I'm in SK close to fei ngo shan. I took a look at the road, and it's scarily bare now, and somewhat post apocalyptic. It used to be so green and lively, now it's all brown and dead. I'll go back and take some pics
