anyone watch the live debate last night? according to Horgan, PR is "lit".

remember this isn't a left vs right, or rich vs poor thing. PR is a terrible system, vote against.

Voted FPTP.

The strongest candidate in a riding wins the seat. If the person you vote for doesn't win too bad, they needed to do a better job in their riding of convincing people to vote for them.

To me, handing out seats just because a party got a certain percentage of the overall popular vote without winning any actual ridings is like the "participation award" of politics.

voting for PR. FPTP is flawed and I want a change. Also it's fairly safe to say that anything conservatives want I'm generally against.

The three PR options are very complicated.

Here is link to CBC's concise summary - https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...iner-1.4889826

Some of the methods of PR explained ... I was like, 'What??!!' Eg. Urban gets one system, rural gets another. And then one or two of the options you vote for, politicians still have to decide on the specifics ... WHAT x2 ??!! So I'm giving them a blank cheque. I don't think so.

Rather they just do FPTP VS STV instead of this hipster BS.

All the PR choices would work excellent in municipal elections and regional districts. At a provincial level, it will bring gongshow to victoria.

we can do this

Severe lack of transparency from Horgan and the PR system, IMO

Voted FPTP. i love how they use Germany as an example for one of them. You need to be Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking's love child to understand their voting system.

exactly. bill tielman, ndp's former poster boy, is a huge advocate against pr.

I voted against it for quiet a few reasons. lots of which have been covered here, and in the media already.

it is not a fairer system
it is not a better system

what it is, is a DIFFERENT system. it has pros and cons, but by no means is fptp a bad system.

the ballot is fucked up. It leaves so many unanswered questions its not even funny.

It has options, and yet goes into no detail whatsoever on how those options would work.

The current government has totally botched this referendum, and it pisses me off. They wasted our money on an il-thought out question, which leaves more questions than answers. I agree with those who say they dont know what the fuck they are voting for, because the ballot is unclear and there is no information.

The big thing which I haven't seen discussed here is how FPTP inevitably leads to a two party system, which is a big problem here in BC especially.

Here is a fantastic video which explains the issues with FPTP:

CGP grey is brilliant.
