People complain of excessive mainlanders laundering money

People complain when money laundering checks are in place

I'm betting some reference to this incident will be included in future lyrics of his

Hondaracer 11-04-2018 06:58 AM

It’s also kinda funny with the assumption of racial profiling as both times I’ve been at parq it’s been filled with like the ends of the spectrum of people lol

You’ve got a group of loud buddy guy EI’s, huge groups of mainlanders who can’t undersrand the pit bosses, and then the dirt ball white people who losing their savings at $5 BJ

But yea, no fair skinned blacks please

Qmx323 11-04-2018 07:31 AM

I was there last week. I see these security guards running to and fro. A few moments before that, I saw this homeless (looked like one) dude, struggling his way through/between the slot machines. I hear one of the security guards say the guy dropped his crack pipe on the floor in the high limit area. Come to think of it, I better trim the beard. I'm starting to look like a homeless guy, or like weed jesus. You know it's long when it starts to tickle your nipples.

how's the Parq complex for someone who doesn't gamble?
worth walking around?

Better than edgewater was, good restaurants albeit expensive. But gambling is definitely the main attraction...

As for the discussion at hand, the real question here should be why couldn't Drake provide the necessary documents... and what are the documents required?

I'm glad to hear that the money laundering requirements are in place now, but the requirements need to be such that it doesn't exclude certain people from playing how they want to.

As an example, why wouldn't a player be allowed to buy in, but the enforcement for the money laundering requirements happen at the time of cash-out, I can understand that you would then run into problems with people who can't pull up the documents, but then just get all their information and tell them they need to get it to you within a certain period of time in order to receive all the money, or leave them with the useless plastic until they come back with the documents. And if they can't congrats you just pulled illegal money back away from criminals.

I guess what I am asking, what the fuck are these requirements for BCLC, like do they need a pay stub? What if you own your own business? What if you work as a stripper and make bank that's all cash, do they want your income tax for last year to prove that you paid tax on the bankroll you are playing with?

geeknerd 11-04-2018 12:12 PM

parq insta account is gone lol

I’d be mighty pissed if I was gambling with someone who wasn’t legally allowed to play, then lost lol. Then who gets the winnings? The Casino? Lol

Gerbs 11-04-2018 02:30 PM

^
That only appliest to poker. I think you'd still get the winnings.

Nowadays everytime people don't get their way they call racism...

just because you are rich and famous doesn't mean you get to flout the rules.

Sadly most of the time they do but I agree they shouldn't and especially don't cry about it when someone won't look the other way.

Nlkko 11-05-2018 08:54 AM

Celebrity herd is so brainless.

That flat 10k rule with 0 recourse is dumb though. You would think they allow people to go through KYC AML to lift the limit instead of denying them outright.

"I work at Parq and could get fired for telling you this. Here's some things you might like to know.

The minute Drake walked into Parq, everyone knew exactly who he was.

He was refused service because of BCLC's (the government body that regulates gambling in BC) policy that requires Source of Funds from any player trying to buy in for more then $10,000 in cash - a policy foolishly implemented to attempt to stop money laundering in BC casinos. Parq tried to do everything they could to allow him to gamble (he was literally going to be a gold mine for them) including calling up BCLC. Drake and his entourage were well informed of this policy when they were refused service.

If Parq allowed Drake to break this law, they could lose their gambling license.

The accusation that he was " racial profiled" is categorically false - however if you mean he was profiled as a "duech bag celebrity who treated everyone rudely and with disrespect", then yeah - thats true. Casino's only care about 1 color: Green. If you ever walk into Parq, you'll see people of all ethnicity's playing.

Making racial allegations seems to be easier then being a decent, well grounded person and setting a fan base against a company because you tried to break the law is a pretty low move. Just because you are famous doesn't mean you can walk into a BC casino with a bag of cash and break the law"

Thanks for this, I was wondering why.

When I bought my Denali, we were at TD and I handed the guy the cash at the counter. The bank manager got all bent out of shape with it being over $10G in cash, I figured she was just being a B but I guess these are the rules.

Another entitled celebrity who thinks he can do whatever he wants because he has money and fame.

I'm getting really sick of seeing that everywhere. Forget any other possible reason, racism is the immediate cause for anytime anyone doesn't get what they want now.
