Evidence that celebrity endorsement holds much weight in '18 is readily apparent.

Take Drake's run-in with officials at a Vancouver casino as the best possible example. While visiting the homeland, the Canadian rapper stepped foot in Parq Vancouver's casino suite where he claims he was refused service. Drake was in town performing the Vancouver-leg of the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour to a raucous crowd at the Rogers Arena.

What I've been hearing is that because of the new laundering laws, he didn't have the BCLC paperwork that showed source of income and how much he was coming in with. This is after they attempted to contact BCLC telling them who he was, and trying to keep his business.

welfare 11-03-2018 01:05 PM

so in other words, they were following protocol.

Parq ruined by army of 15 year old keyboard warriors. RIP.

Also, worse business ever? He must have never been to Tim Hortons.

Wholeheartedly agree that this location is the absolute worst Tim Horton's I've ever been to. I even frequented the Tinseltown one several times when I was working across the street and the Gilley one is still inferior.

Drake is just pissed off that nobody recognized him and now he's going to realize most people don't give two shits about him.

Found this from a user from reddit:

"I work at Parq and could get fired for telling you this. Here's some things you might like to know.

The minute Drake walked into Parq, everyone knew exactly who he was.

He was refused service because of BCLC's (the government body that regulates gambling in BC) policy that requires Source of Funds from any player trying to buy in for more then $10,000 in cash - a policy foolishly implemented to attempt to stop money laundering in BC casinos. Parq tried to do everything they could to allow him to gamble (he was literally going to be a gold mine for them) including calling up BCLC. Drake and his entourage were well informed of this policy when they were refused service.

If Parq allowed Drake to break this law, they could lose their gambling license.

The accusation that he was " racial profiled" is categorically false - however if you mean he was profiled as a "duech bag celebrity who treated everyone rudely and with disrespect", then yeah - thats true. Casino's only care about 1 color: Green. If you ever walk into Parq, you'll see people of all ethnicity's playing.

Making racial allegations seems to be easier then being a decent, well grounded person and setting a fan base against a company because you tried to break the law is a pretty low move. Just because you are famous doesn't mean you can walk into a BC casino with a bag of cash and break the law"

Mr.Money 11-03-2018 07:22 PM

$10,000 is fuck all, that's crazy low.

welp,So much for drake being a man about it and moving on,but ran to to his little Instagram for his defense.

What doe's BCLC want?....to get the bank to print out your bank statement if you bring in a whole 50 rack?....shitttteee..

According to CNN by May 17, Minaj had agreed to cover more than $18,000 in college costs for about 30 students who had met her requirements of those straight A grades from a verifiable school.

Minaj, a public school graduate, says that she hopes to continue helping out fans with their college costs, eventually setting up a charity or foundation to take care of these expenses. CBS News says her net worth is an estimated $70 million. Her fans are sure to appreciate her using some of that money to help those straight-A students saddled with debt or unable to afford college textbooks.
