People are forgetting one thing, Americans are lazy. The US has over 325 million but the NRA has only around 5 million people. People can't be even bothered to join the NRA so why would they take up arms against the government.
Less than 1/3 of the US pop owns guns. Guns are not that important to a majority of americans.
