I see them more and more on subarus and other smaller cars, so it must work decent enough! I really want one, the only thing keeping me from actively pursuing the idea is my two dogs..

My brother has a tepui on his tacoma - it's awesome. Something about it being part of the structure of the vehicle just makes it feel more spacious. Is that a vestibule hanging below it? that makes a huge difference too. On his truck it's tall enough to stand up in, prob not on the RS

What's the weight of the tent vs the weight rating of the roof bars? I've heard of more than one guy managing to rip the stock roof bars right off their Jeeps by overloading them and then going highway speeds.

Roof rack should hold it no problem. This is how it usually looks all summer

Spoiler!

I'd look into the load rating though. The tents alone are in the 100-200lbs bracket and then add in two humans (figure 300-400lbs). I remember looking into it with just using roof bars and I couldn't get the numbers to work, at least not to something I was comfortable with.

That being said, lots of people be doin it so it must be possible haha.

When the tent is up, there's also the ladder that helps with the load.

The load ratings for most bars are for when your driving, so if your tent is within that rating. Then you will be more than capable to climb in with an extra 300 lbs (two people) when the car/truck is stationary.

Now if you are getting a rack on a truck or something, I'd always suggest something heavier duty.

Had a blast taking the M3 out after an extensive detail and a bunch of maintenance. Valve adjustment, spark plugs, all shifter bushings replaced, cdv delete, steering coupler, oil change, etc.

Just as a PSA (although I may be wrong), I was told that when strapping things on the roof through the inside of the car, you should strap it in with the doors open, then close the doors on the straps - instead of strapping through the windows.

This is so if you wreck and need to get out the back, you're not trapped by the straps.

I know it’s not a car, but I spent 2 days polishing this thing. 500grit for some scratches, 1000 grit, 2000 grit, 2 polishes and 3 layers of wax. I’m done.

Running tight on time, but track prep is coming along. Finally took off the stock Style 68M for these OZ Superleggra III. LOL show car wheels on track tires. Dirty af interior (and car) but peep the shifter.

I'm thinking of swapping out the steering wheel. I messed it up pretty badly when I tried to clean it LOL.
