Ken @ Autowerkes Exclusive

RS Sponsor and I've had personal
experience with him, super detail (pun intended) oriented guy and really pleasant to chat with

I used Ronnie @ PH Solar for both my Lambo's and I was very happy with his work. I also used @jcuramengautomotive for a few smaller pieces on my Performante. Very happy with his work as well. Just make sure you get the paint corrected and detailed prior to having the film installed.

there are 2 players for PPF

3m or Xpel. I went with 3m. they do the same, but some will like one over the other.. i did mine on VANCOUVER (island) @ Renoson if you are interested.

do these shops work mostly on high-end vehicles = charge a premium?

thinking about driving straight to a ppf shop from the dealer lot

Even if you go straight from transport truck to ppf shop, car still needs to be detailed, just less time will be needed for correction.
Of course if you don't care for perfection, then skip the detailing.

Nope, they deal with other cars as well.

Last year when I purchased my 4Runner, I took it to Ronnie at PH Solar for the Xpel ppf.

Great, thanks. Any suggestions on where to go for paint correction?

That's a tough one. LoV had a in house detailer who did my car. I've heard good things about @ancore_auto_studio so maybe give them a shout.

If you're on a budget you could try Burnaby Auto Spa (Burnaby Auto Detailing- Burnaby Auto Spa - Servicing Metro VancouverBurnaby Auto Spa ? Car Detailing in Burnaby and Vancouver Area | Just another WordPress site).

If you're spendy then consider BMS Autohaus (BMS Auto Haus).

There are others out there - I'd suggest you post in the Detailing forum for ref's: https://www.revscene.net/forums/auto...-care-tech_49/

I'll also vouch for @jcuramengautomotive. He was also more recently at SEMA doing demo's at their booth during the show.

info@jcuramengautomotive.com

Have known him since the university days and he's always been meticulous when it comes to every car he is able to work on.

Shoutout to Terrance @ Glossworks. He does both Detailing & PPF. Had a great experience when I took my car in for Detail + PPF.

Gunsmokez 01-13-2019 12:53 AM

I got ken @ autowerkes to do my whole car in ppf, pretty happy with it. Not perfect I would say, but its near it. And I'm very picky.

If you are interested, Pm me and I can show you sometime.

My car is on his instagram as well.

Called PH Solar today to get a quote, the owner wasn't in and one of the techs answered. Quoted me $550 just to tint my windows. Cash only. I can only image their Clear Bra quote.

Clear bra ain’t cheap anywhere you go

That I know. But window tint isn't $550 anywhere you go, either. :awwyeah:

EvoFire 01-15-2019 09:53 PM

Just make sure you don't go to Five Star. Horrible experience.

Zedbra 01-25-2019 05:38 PM

Visited PH Solar last week, as I never received a return call. Spoke to the owner, he was a nice guy and we chatted for a while about what I wanted - paint protection and tint. He asked that I email him to set up an appointment, which I did - and then I never heard back from him.

So, I went to Brookswood Tint and spoke with Yuki, who is really nice older guy that is always busy. Managed to get my car in last night, picked up today. I had the entire front end covered up to the doors, the A pillars all the way to the back, and the mirrors for $1k taxes in. My window tint is on order, he will be installing it when it arrives. I would definitley recommend his service to others.

Suntek Ultra. 10 year warranty. https://www.suntekfilms.com/paintpro...ppf-ultra.aspx

I guess working in Langley, one can't be picky about whom their paying customers will be. My old roomate that lives out there and has many nice cars (Lambo, Ferrarri, classic Mustangs, and others) takes his car to this shop and he recommended I check him out.

the border/transition isn't noticeable? where the fender (with) and doors (without) meets

I honestly don't know what to compare it to, but let me go and grab a few pics and let you decide. Only thing I didn't like is the line on the mirrors - as it was 'computer cut' and seemed to pull away 1/2" on one corner - perhaps the design is incorrect.
