I listened to the recording as well and I don't think he was necessarily being disrespectful. I think the main challenge was he kept making excuses for his behavior over and over again. For example, he admits he lets his kid run through the hall whenever they leave the house or come home and feels it's not important to try and stop him, even though he's received numerous complaints about his kid being noisy in the halls. The arbitrator clearly didn't agree with that perspective. As the call went along, if you boil down his testimony, it basically was "I did everything I could do", "There's nothing more I can do" and "I'm too busy of a guy to deal with this". I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the idea. He believed he was 100% right and was being harassed. The landlord, on the other hand, presented evidence in the form of witness testimonies and said they gave several verbal warnings before any kind of written warning, plus offered to relocate the guy to one of two different suites. It's funny how so many people, including the arbitrator, said how this was a totally reasonable and perfect resolution to the matter. Everyone except this guy, who simply refuses to accept full responsibility. When the warnings were being delivered, the dad even told the landlord to keep giving him warnings so that when he gets evicted, the landlord would have to compensate him with 2 months of rent (which is not true). That alone speaks to his character. Makes for a pretty easy decision for any arbitrator when you hear evidence like that. |

I don't know why it's hard for people to realize that if people are always complaining about you, maybe they aren't the assholes. |
Good God, I'm roughly the same age as this prick and the entitlement is absolutely insane. Landlord: "Why can't you hold his hand when going from the elevator to the home, like his mother does when she picks him up" Prick: "I do hold his hand most of the time" Landlord: "I live across the hall from you, and he's ALWAYS running from the elevator to the home" Prick: "Well when the door opens he runs out, he's a child!" Fuck me. |
Single dad. "Shocking". |
It's only a matter of time before the landlord hires a sheriff and the sheriff goes in there and physically removes him and puts all his stuff into storage. |
i listened to the entire hearing and the guys defense was poor. It's no different than disputing a speeding ticket and going in and saying I wasn't speeding as his defense. That was probably why the Arb ruled in favor of the landlord. I wonder if he was dumb enough to post the decision. |
