Green strobe lights legit?

Had an experience where a grey F150 Platinum was flashing green strobes at me. Encountered this heading north on highway 99 near the highway 17 junction.

Has anyone else run into this? Are these police vehicles?

Called Delta and Surrey PD and they seemed to think that there was no need to pull over.

@SSM_DC5, yep have the plate but not a video of the flashing lights since rear dashcam seems to be misaimed on my rental

@BIC_BAWS found a couple links that seem to suggest that these may belong to volunteer firefighter vehicles?

It's unfortunate that you didn't get the flashing on dashcam.

I know someone who had plate + flashing on dashcam. They submitted it to local police who then showed up to the registered owners house and issued them a vi. Police also said it wasn't the first time they had received a complaint against that plate for inappropriate flashing lights.

No Volunteer Fire Depts in the Lower Mainland - have to head out towards the Interior/North for those, and from my knowledge no one in BC uses the green flashing lights.

Sheriff vehicles have a green flashing strobe on the rear of the lead car when they convoy to and from court and jail carrying a defendant.

I see it every other day on my way home on HWY1 between cassiar and port man.
