It sounds like the sagging subfloor is gonna be rather troublesome. Do you know if it is the subfloor itself that is sagging? or is it the underlying floor that is sagging?
My parents' place has an uneven concrete floor in the basement, and when we wanted to rip out the old carpets / vinyl flooring to replace them with laminate and newer vinyl, one of the contractors said that doing it properly would require levelling the floor with concrete, and that gets rather expensive quickly. Another contractor suggested that we can simply lay down more layers of underlay to even it out at best we can, and then install laminate floors on top. It wouldn't be perfect, but it would be cheap.
