Question about importing vehicle to US

I will be moving to Denver, Colorado for work and I would prefer to import my Canadian 2009 Outlander there. I know it might just be easier to sell it and buy a car there... but in terms of expenses and money it's not so much an option right now. My outlander has been really reliable and I don't want to look into a used car there.

So far, I understand I need to fill out the DOT HS-7 and EPA 3520-1 forms. I also got a letter from Mitsubishi Canada stating the car complies with the US DOT and EPA regulations. The only exception to this is:

1) Standard No. 101 controls and displays
2) Standard No. 108 lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment

I'm hoping someone could tell me or guide me somewhere to fix the two above before I head down to the border.

Thanks in advance!

When I sold my Acura RSX to an American I got a letter regarding its admissability from Acura USA not Canada... I lied and told them I was moving to USA cuz they’ve wouldn’t provide it if I was just “selling” the car, so I believe you need to contact Mitsubishi USA and they will give you what you need. You won’t have any other problems.
