Douchebag geezer in a Subaru blasted through a dangerous intersection the other day while I was trying to turn left. He had enough space to stop safely, if he hadn't been going 90 in a 50kmh zone. Give these assholes tickets all you want BC Gov't. |
So when does this take effect? |

Was it a blue legacy GT-B RHD wagon LOL |
Speed camera activated today according to reddit. 20+ people flashed for going 20+ over. |
There goes my days of going up Oak to hockey on Sunday evenings at a steady 70 :alone: |

Multiple crashes on Knight reported on Waze, I wonder if it's related to people slowing down for the cameras |
new cameras or not first day of summer, sunny friday afternoon...was watching my speed because it's probably a good day for speed traps |
Holy FUCK, my blood is boiling right now looking at that interactive map someone posted here. Can someone please explain to me how traffic authority works in Vancouver? Why is the city so slow to make obvious improvements to clear areas in which log jams have occurred for eons here? For example, I'm finding it absolutely puzzling that the city authority had the wherewithal to install a speed "camera" at the intersection of Hastings and Nanaimo, yet they have never taken the time to install a leading left turn signal on an intersection that has ALWAYS BEEN A LOG JAM due to left lane turners, I mean heck the problem pushing traffic all the way back to bloody Renfrew. The city has NEVER addressed that problem, yet we can have speeding cameras installed within mere months? Someone please explain this to me, because it's baffling to me how this city works and operates. |

NVM speed cameras, fix the fucking potholes on the city streets. |
I took my radar detector out and drove by the speed cameras. The ones on Oak tripped the detector and it was squawking (and i should add it says red light cameras separately) but it didn't say shit about the one on Kerr and SE Marine. So either it's not actually picking them up or only some are in service or? |

Mark my words, it's only a matter of time that these cameras are utilized outside of intersections along major thoroughfares and highways. Someone should campaign on the promise of getting rid of them again, they'd have my vote. |
You can see them on Oak, they look different than the red light cameras... red light cameras there have always been beige or white but now they’re black... 70th and 57th both have the black units. Gonna be lots of “customers” tho I slowed to 60ish going by and people were just blowing by me at 80+ especially at 70th coming off the bridge. |
Are these the ones with the signs that says red light cameras before the intersection? Or are there no warning signs |
They’re in the same spot as those cameras were, but there is no warning sign indicating a speed camera. The camera unit is now black instead of beige but the pole with the flash on it for photos is still the old beige colour. I’m not sure but I’m guessing these new camera units can do both (red light and speed)? |
For the intersection at boundary and Kingsway, the sign now says red light and speed camera. For boundary and 49th, there's no sign at all or none I could see. |

I noticed speed cameras signs up on Kingsway Joyce, Kingsway Victoria and Knight 33. People seem to be driving slower on Kingsway today. I wonder if the cameras works for both direction of traffic or just the way that it is pointed towards |
