Apparently you are supposed to wash cars on your lawn not your driveway?

Is this news to anybody else?

Vancouver woman petitioning the City of Vancouver to let people know how to legally wash cars.

Drivers are supposed to take their vehicles to commercial car washes or do it at home on lawns, gravel pads or other permeable surfaces where the runoff doesn't end up in the drain.

Didn't know it was a (by)law but ya that's a thing

Badhobz 05-10-2019 07:15 AM

if that lady told me to wash my car on my lawn, id tell her to fuck off. So what, when it rains and all that shit runs off the "dirty cars" into the sewers does she lose her shit and have an anxiety attack?!

fuck you bitch

https://i.makeagif.com/media/2-10-2014/bIK3dS.gif
should do this right next to her house

JDMDreams 05-10-2019 07:16 AM

I can't afford a lawn

shabusen 05-10-2019 07:31 AM

I have a squeeze-trigger hose and use so little water that it evaporates before it even gets to the sewer grate.

If there were more spray washes and less drive-thru crap ones, it wouldn't be an issue.

This woman needs to find something better to do with her time.

At the end of the day there are tons of big corporate companies that fuck up the planet more so then us washing our cars in the driveway. Also commercial car washes are suppose to reuse their water, and the water go thru filters but I wouldn't trust any of those companies as to how often they change filters. I mean they prob don't change them at all to save money so more profit.

i think it's less about the road grime but more about the chemicals used

every since we've had that water restriction few years ago i only really handwash few times a year (daily sees touchless in the winter)

FatalCloud 05-10-2019 09:55 AM

My current building doesn't even have a spot for car washing. :rukidding:

Previous places that I've lived in had the water run off into the drain.

mr00jimbo 05-10-2019 10:33 AM

The city can't even collect discarded needles and human shit on the ground and I'm supposed to not wash my car on the street because a little soap might get in the drain?

aznsuperman 05-10-2019 10:35 AM

we should all drive our car to her house and wash our car on her lawn!

Whatheshrek 05-10-2019 10:57 AM

jpark 05-10-2019 11:09 AM

Vancouver's war on the car has stooped to new lows.

Rallydrv 05-10-2019 03:42 PM

city of vancouver permits/bylaws is full of retards

they want people to have a lawn, (bylaw to have a minimum coverage) but then have bylaws about watering your lawn.

with all water restrictions. maybe u should change bylaws accordingly.

reactive laws . nothing forward looking whatsoever

Traum 05-10-2019 08:52 PM

As I always say, you'd have to have some pretty bad relationships with your neighbours to have them report you on bylaw violations.

Or maybe the neighbours would just have to be dicks.

I've always been quite thankful that the worst I have ever had to put up with was a passive-aggressive neighbour a few units down the hallway when I was in my old apartment. And even then, she'd usually be fine if I try to keep our interactions minimal.

dared3vil0 05-10-2019 09:27 PM

I'd rather the soap and harsh chemicals didn't kill my nice lawn, thank you very much.

punkwax 05-10-2019 09:33 PM

This just in:

Lydia Lee petitions for neighbours to take better care of their lawns and the environment after surrounding properties become an eyesore due to grass killing chemicals used as people wash cars on their lawn rather than the driveway as the result of a local bylaw.

danned 05-10-2019 09:39 PM

no lawns at the back, only lawns at the front,

do i have to use my car to crash my fence to wash my car in the front?

VR6GTI 05-11-2019 05:54 AM

Another reason to use optimum no rinse

HonestTea 05-11-2019 09:31 AM

Fuck that

PiuYi 05-11-2019 12:37 PM

tofu1413 05-11-2019 02:51 PM
