Stoked for that 90s concert!

A few concerts are already sold out. Billy idol is for sure can’t remember the other one.

Picked up my free tickets for living in the hood, what a shit show after waiting for 25 minutes I became “that guy” who struggles at the front of the line because they don’t accept property taxes as proof you live there :/

Can't you just show them your DL?

You need to prove you actually live in a house within the proximity. So any regular bill would have been fine, I was just stupid and brought my property taxes which doesn’t guarantee you live there I guess

Got it :)

Do the locals just get admission or are there any other perks (e.g. discounts for the live shows)?

Grew up next to the PNE before they had this, but mum still lives there.

Hondaracer 06-12-2019 08:27 AM

There is a neighborhood day where you get free playland ride passes for up to 4 people and a few little minor things but that’s about it

I haven't been to a PNE Summer Night Concert in 5+ years, before reserved seating was really a thing.

How hard is it to get a free ticket in the morning? And if you have a free ticket, what time do you actually need to show up to get a decent viewing angle for the show?

Hondaracer 06-12-2019 02:38 PM

Free tickets are done for the average person.

Popular concerts people are lining up at 10am to get the tickets they hand out at 5-6

It’s either reserved seating or the beer garden

Liquid_o2 06-12-2019 03:40 PM

Good to know. I remember seeing Kevin Costner and his band play at the PNE a decade ago. We were just able to walk up and watch when it started, not that many people. Seems like it is a whole different ball game now.

Yeh I picked up 3 Billy Idol tickets for me and 2 friends about 4 weeks ago. Another friend tried to buy a ticket 2 weeks ago and the tickets were all sold out.

I loved the Doobie Brothers concert 2 years ago with the summer sky as a backdrop. My all time favorite show was Hall and Oates about 6 or 7 years ago!

can't you listen to the concerns while standing? or must you pay?

MG1 06-13-2019 05:44 PM

You mean like watching the drive in movies from the hill two miles out?

I was going to say, like when I was a kid, but thing is, they didn't have drive in movies back then, gulolol.

Unless you like watching through the shrouds over the fencing, no.

The beer garden where the dueling pianos is plays the live feed and the music over the speakers, which, imo is a better scenario because you can be drinking while watching

However, even the beer garden fills up/lines up quick when big acts are on

mikemhg 06-14-2019 02:29 PM

FYI they serve booze at the concerts as well.

Damn, too bad no 112 or Boyz II Men this year.

Eff-1 06-14-2019 03:34 PM

If I wanted to watch the beach boys from the dueling pianos beer garden, what time should one plan on arriving?

Be in the beer garden before the dueling pianos set prior to the concert begins (if that makes sense lol)

MG1 08-15-2019 04:58 PM

Opens this Saturday.

I don't think I've missed going to one...........

On a side note, PNE prize home tickets used to be affordable.

lilaznviper 08-15-2019 09:35 PM

4 free tickets to pne + 1 VIP ticket to the show home + ticket for up to 4 guests for an exclusive night to Playland opened only to people in the hood.

Also if you live within an even smaller range than their usual pne radius you also get free fright night passes in October

StylinRed 08-16-2019 05:10 AM

I remember the concerts being viewable from the walkway, guess they changed the location of the concerts :/

Haven't been to pne in over a decade I think lol

They put hoarding up so you cant see the concerts anymore, probably a good thing as it would cause a crazy traffic jam at that hill
